I've raced 2 bikes and won both times
people tell me that bikes are fast as hell and they all run 10s stock

I don't know anything about bikes except that they have a hard time racing at really high speeds. when I raced the bikes both times we were already going about 70 and went to 160. I immediately got a couple cars ahead and never saw each bike till after the race.

I just have intake and exhaust with non sequential pettit ecu fuel pump and at the time I was running 13.5psi on pump

good luck
if you even stay within 2-3 car lengths the kid should be mad

if its his first bike id be willing to put money on the 7... he will either bog on his launch or he will do a wheelie and it will scare him off the throttle lol good luck i would say you have a pretty damn good shot at it

Raced a 1999 ZX7 from 50 mph to 150mph.

1st run we were side by side, I left him behind.

2nd run, I'm behind him at the start, left him behind by one car length

3rd run- he's drafting me, left him behind,

4th run, started at a higher speed 80mph, left him behind, badly this time.

The guy was a sore loser, gave me the finger.

Anything above a 750cc or from a standing start I would have trouble with.

Funny aside, a guy on a souped up Harley thought he could take me at a light .... I gave him a little demonstration of a fireball with the anti-lag feature of the PFC datalogit.

Reman motor with poman water injection, M2 large, PFC, 14 psi, catback, fuel pump.

Please explain this poman water injection.

Also, with the BNR 3s I've wasted at least 3 750cc sport bikes from ~70 to 140.

Sportbikes are all about acceleration. Once you get up to speed, the battle is a little more even. I have an R6 too and that'll dust my 7 off the line, no matter what I do to my 7. But then again.. when it comes up to speed, my 7 will destroy.

I have a cbr 1000. Again, dead stop bikes will stomp the crap out of most of our cars *given they dont run 8-9sec 1/4. Once your to about 60 and do a rollon, the bike might have a small jump but the rotary will win in the end.

I got a car length on a GSXR of some size (had the SRAD sticker on the back).

Pretty low dig too, he heard me shift down to 2nd & still let me have the jump. We were pretty even through the rest of 2nd gear (I was spinning) & I pulled on him through third then I lifted at about 7K.

He didn't like that one bit! Kept jumping at me & pointing forward like he wanted me to fire off (into traffic). :?

I sold my 2000 R6 to buy my FD...My R6 was stock and it pulled like a soohnbitch. I did 168mph on it and it got there in a heartbeat...I did a 10.4 quarter mile...My BPU FD couldn't do that or anywhere close to that.

IMO after owning both the FD and the the cycle I don't think you have a chance.

From a dead stop, or slow roll, the bike will pull away, hard to beat the power to weight ratio of a bike. Starting from higher speeds, you may be able to pull on the bike. I know on my V-Max (faster than a R-6) from a dead start not many cars (if any) will get ahead. At highway speeds however, I dont have quite the advantage anymore. So if you want to give yourself a chance at beating him, start at about 45-55mph, otherwise you will probably lose.

I also have both a R6 and a RX7.
If ridden correctly, a R6 will be HARD to beat.
I would say give him a run and see where you end up, but since he's a new rider, you should probably do both of you a favor and decline the race.
He's a new rider and racing on a bike such as the R6 as a new rider is not the smartest of ideas.
You don't want anyone getting hurt, or killed.

I could not keep up with this viper after 110+...
I was ahead of him from 2nd to 3rd gear though.

my cbr isnt all that fast on top end. Once you hit about 120-130 it feels like the wind is really beginning to catch the bike. Much like the r6. I think pretty much anyone who has ridden either back at such high speeds knows what I am talking about. the rx7 at those speeds.. atleast modded fds shouldnt have much of a problem..unless your trying a H-Bus

Bike guys are sometimes gun shy beside a car, especialy if you`re talking about a 600 sportbike since the majority are piloted by noobs. When I had my CBR 600 I was always concerned about cars coming into my lane and stuff. From a standstill, there are not alot of cars that will hang with a 600 in the quarter but from a roll it`s different. I raced a vette from a roll once on my 600 and he came into my lane and hit me. It was really just a nudge but it still made me get off the gas. The guy in the vette was pretty shaken up about it too. Now I have a GSXR1000 and I don`t worry about being beside anything with four wheels. When the hammer falls, it`s all over! I regularly pull away from cars while on one wheel, yes even RX7s! IMHO, any car that is quick enough to beat my Gixer, really doesn`t belong on the streets.

I used to own and race a '93 CBR600F2 done up with exhaust, jet kit, and 2 tooth larger sprocket out back... The joys of being young and having zero responsibilities.

As long as the owner of the R6 ain't a squid, he's gonna kill your (FstFD3SPOWER) FD.

BTW, back in 95 the guys that I used to ride with put me on a Kawasaki ZX-11 to see how fast it could go (I was the smallest/lightest of the bunch at 5'5" and 125 lbs). I was clocked at 176mph by radar by another guy that we used to ride with who was also a cop. The owner of the bike (a pretty big guy 6'2" and 220lbs) could only push 162mph on the same bike... So if they owner of the R6 is a fat slob, you might have a chance
