Unhappy Anyone spend over $100 in bolts and little pieces?

I did. Add a few bolts here and there, add a few clips here and there and boom!!! $100 in basically bolts and other little knick knacks to keep things in place.

Ouch!

BTW, I bought extra bolts and other pieces just in case I needed more. Add a few relays and plastic pieces and boom!!! Over $200.

I have not kept track during my single turbo conversion with all the associated upgrades but I would bet I have easily spent over $200. $10 at Napa, $15 at Pep Boys, $5 at Lowes. It is a running joke in my household.

Yep, I spent $140 at mazdacomp a little while ago, and the biggest ticket item in the pile was a $20 fuel tank vapor check valve.

spent around 60-70(if i remember right) just for the 4 studs and nuts..for the downpipe...
then didn't even use them....
ended up useing 4 allen head bolts...

also found a local bolt supply company...most the $#!t is 25cent a bolt or nut(for larger bolts)...

Once I left Home Depot with $80 in bolts, and realized I needed to start buying the stuff by the case if I was going to keep this up.

I know you wont find a FD at the junkyard, but when I am the pick a part, I take a lot of bolts as spares. They are good 80% of the time

: If its a nut or bolt stud or what ever i put it on the new motor set up, spent 8,000 on the motor so i couldnt bring myself to use old bolts. Plus theres nothing thats completly stock in the engine bay anymore. There going to have to bury me in that car i cant afford a casket$

Holy crap! Building from scratch?

Does Home Depot carry metric sized nuts and bolts and also grade 8 and higher?

If so, I might have to check them out.

Home depot bolts are ok, but make sure u get the lock and flat washers. The highest wil probably be grade 8.8

Lot of the factory bolts dont need that hardware. The head of the bolt is not as big either, and they come in the correct size. I have no problems reusing old bolts. I would just stay away from used exhaust bolts.

Depending on the aplication grade 8 sometimes should not be used as they are harder and will not bend like a grade 5 they may break easier.

Lowes has a much better selection (and organization) than Home Depot of all types of fasteners. It is not just nuts and bolts; plastic fasteners for fender liners, etc.
