ANyone know the wiring on an FD??
I installed the rotary extreme kit and the factory headlight wires for the high and low beams on both sides dont work. The ground is fine. Does anyone know where the fuse to the headlights is, or should i replace the relay. I dont know what to do.

Yes
I checked it with a voltmeter. No voltage. I figured the prob was a fuse, i just dont know where the fuse for the headlights is. I was thinking it is the one above the EGI fuse that says HEAD. but i am not sure. this particular fuse is located in the engine bay above the battery by the drivers fender.
I am probably gonna take it to mazda today and just have them replace the fuse. I am sure they know which one to replace. BTW, i ordered a shop manual yesterday.

RTFM!!!!
Read The Freaking Manual!!!!!
The owner's manual that came with your car contains locations of the fuse boxes. There is one near the driver's footwell (left foot, near clutch) and a couple more in the engine bay, one near the battery and one hidden near the airbox plastic. I don't know which box contains the fuse for headlights, but you should be able to find it by process of elimination, they're marked pretty clearly.
You should remove fuses BEFORE working on electric parts, in order to avoid damaging components or hurting yourself.
Did they quit teaching auto shop in high school? Are modern enthusiasts dwindling in intelligence? These things should be pretty common knowledge...

hey rotoboy, no need to be rude. I know were the panel was. Just making sure they were talking about that particular one since there are no 30amp fuses in there. Jeez, chill.
BTW, it was the 30amp HEAD fuse near battery. Swapped it out, headlights look and work even better than i thought

KrisRX71993, I'm sure you blew that fuse as a result of not following basic safety procedures that any shade-tree mechanic should know. You're lucky you didn't hurt yourself due to your carelessness. When working with electrical components, disconnect the battery or remove the fuse to the system you're going to be dealing with. Failure to do so can result in injury due to electric shock.
That is high school auto shop 101. If you do not know that, then I feel no obligation to give you respect. If that hurts your feelings, then you've got a lot to learn besides electricity.
It's good that you got your headlights installed, and thanks for posting the answer to your problem for future reference of others. It's winter in KC, I advise that you don't drive your RX-7 in the snow.
