anyone know how to disable the coolant lever alarm off? (besides filling the coolant)
I have this minor but very annoying problem. The coolant lever alarm is buzzing like crazy and it wouldn't stop. I looked up the schematic and it seems simply enough to disable it. But the buzzing noise keeps buzzing on. I located the source of the buzzing sound back to the ecu#2. I don't want to disconnect it because of its other functions. I tried grounding that wire but that didn't help. I like to know if anyone out there know how to disable it the coolant lever alarm. Btw, don't say just fill up the coolant. I took out the lever sensor so its no longer in equation. I don't want to go into details about why it is not there in the first place. Well, any feedback from you rotor gurus would be helpful...

Call me gramps!
Maybe your sensor has gone bad -- mines was okay after ~80k miles, but it was still okay. The bolt did crack, so I had to replace it. As for disabling it, I really don't know how it to do it... I would 1st make sure the connections are good by cleaning it with some electronic contact cleaner (mines was full of gunk) -- then go from there.

I don't think anyone on this forum will endorse running without one considering how many people have coolant problems on their 3rd gens.
With that said, I beileve that it measures the resistance between the actual coolant and the block, so you should be able to either ground it or add a small resistor in series with it, to ground.
But fixing this symptom instead of the problem doesn't sound prudent.

i forget the exact wire, but its in the 2 larger conectors near the factory batery location. i believe its a brown wire (forget if there is a tracer or the color if it IS a b/? ) its in the one that has more wires than the other....
you can see it in the schematics. splice in and gound it. its not recomended, but i guess you *could* do it....
