Question Anyone know anything about ECU?

Is the stock ECU good up to 12 psi?

What would happen if i ran a streetported engine full racing exaughst with an intake. And signle turbo converstion on a stock Ecu? But not running more then 15 pounds of boost.
Of course I'll need to install a fuel cut defenser chip on the ecu. But would that be a bad idea?
I havent done it yet im running about 9psi at the moment which is really not cutting it for me.
Yes i have thought about a Power Fc but i don't have the money for it nor the tunning.
I just want a little more power with out having to go all the way with the stand alone of power fc which would require bigger injectors and ect.
Please help!
I don't want to blow me engine which is my biggest fear!

Go to the ECU section and do a search
you will find a lot of things to read about that
if you do the mods you say w/o the ecu upgrade you WILL blow your engine 200% sure

and you'll still need some bigger injectors.... no way around that with a single.

If you are running a single turbo and a street ported motor I would definitely recommend larger sec. injectors and a PFC. Stock ECU with stock twins and full exhaust will blow your motor so with you running a single there is no real other way to go besides standalone.

If you can't afford to put a PFC in your car, you shouldn't be doing all of those modifications. If you are worried about the cost of the motor and having to replace one, you might want to rethink owning an FD.

The stock ECU is good for a stock car. Anything beyond that level and you need a modded ECU like the Pettit or M2 unit. If you're getting into the world of 14+ psi single turbos, theres no way around a standalone like the Power FC, Haltech, or AEM EMS

Then leave the car alone. If you can't afford to modify the car properly, then leave it alone. Also, you should be running at 10 psi, not 9.

This car is very fast, even in stock form, especially for an 18 year old driver....

Why do you ask them, they dont know, 200% sure, well you already 200% wrong. The motor wont blow. Nothing is flowing more than it should be. The fuel mixture is rich. No need for bigger Injectors if he's not even running over stock levels, what exactly would that do besides run richer. At 10psi on a power FC and lets say 1300cc's he would just have to down tune them. If he were wanting to run 15-17psi that would be different.

So all of you drive stock cars at stock boost levels. or you all have an exhaust intake, with a power Fc? And dyno tuned? From everyones comment am I correct to assume that?

And what should he search for? If you cant help, the only other reason your on this board is to recieve help. So ease up, we should help him and you guys give you opinion on the matter. "Go search" or " you shouldnt own an FD" is not an answer for what was asked.

Perhaps he should inform us on what single turbo he is running? IC?

Sounds like he's dreaming about the mods, not actually possessing them and trying to make it work. As the others said, it'd be stupid to go through all that expense and trouble, only to cheap out on the fuel system. And it would be just as stupid to have all that (a "streetport with full exhaust and a single turbo conversion") and only run under 15 psi.

So he's dreaming of all the mods? But dreaming of not having a stand-alone? Sounds like a nightmare!
