Don't mean to rain on the parade.

Maybe she can offer some more heavy duty material that will hold up better for a few extra bucks or something. That will help prevent them from moving around while driving and stuff too. Also, It would be good to see what kinda backing those have; wether or not they just have those tiny black "Cleets" that always break off and tear up the carpet.

I would be in for a set of mats also. Black with Red lettering would be sweet, but if not White Lettering is fine. Keep me posted, and PM me for sure. Thanks
Mike

Wow...that's a lot of responses from this morning I understand the main concern ppl have is thickness/quality. But also keep in mind people that quality floor mats run for about $150 easy. Kev's right, you get what you pay for.... BUT:

Bro, if you could indeed check them out and get back to us, that would be great - although you'll prob find out the same thing that the other guys in the thread wReX posted a link for did. It's prob thin and uses the cleats.

I obviously don't want to get a GB going and end up w/ a bunch of people who are pissed at what they paid for. So which do you guys want? Taking the mat for cosmetics (right shape + custom color mat and/or logo) although it may be thin, or do you wanna see if she can upgrade the backing of the mats, maybe make it a bit thicker (but price would prob have to go up a bit), or forget the idea completely?

see if she can upgrade the backing, i def dont want anything near stock though :\

My stock mats backing has deteriorated and fell apart - I dont know what happened to it but the backing actually is disintigrating on the driver side. I got bits and chunks of the floormats all over the carpet and need a replacement - but if its going to be the same stuff I'd rather just get the ones from rx7.com or mazdatrix

^^yeah, i mean my passenger tan mat is near perfect so it would be pointless and stupid to just replace one mat so i wanted to buy a pair..my drivers side mat is dirty as hell and the backing is falling apart, i have to vaccum underneath that mat like every week..

plus i wanted to go to black anyway..

I bought a set of these before Christmas haven't used them yet. Yes, they do look better than my old drivers side with holes in it. However they are much lighter and thinner and if I would have known how thin and "cheap" they feel I probably wouldn't have bought them even though they're only $50.

Save up a few more bucks and buy some that are not as flimsy.

I'll try to take a few pics when I get home late tonite of the new and old side by side and post them for your viewing.

I'm all for buying a set, of Better than OEM matts, in every respect as to backing, Font, and Pile (Height) of carpet.... and I'd be willing to go to the $150 mark for a set (2) but only if I improve on what I have now... maybe if we get a group buy going we can get a set for $120 which would make it more affordable...

When I spend $$ on my car I like to improve on OEM...

I totally understand what you mean. I'll be honest w/ ya tho. For me, it's a win-win situation. I have blank black thick mats on my floor right now. I just want ones that say RX7 on them. I'll prob put them on top of the existing mats if they're thin (just for the look), or replace my old mats completely if they're the same (or better) quality.

I simply thought it would be a good idea to see if anyone was interested in these mats, given that we all want ones that have the RX7 Logo on them, and the OEM ones are pretty much a no-go. So you guys let me know if you're game or not, cuz for me, I don't care whether we get these cheap ones, or we get upgraded nicer ones (if possible). I just want the logo It's your call guys.

I'm interested, but how would it work? Would we all give you money and she ships to you and you send them out? Or would be she sending them out to all of us?

I really haven't ironed out the details, simply cuz I wasn't sure if ppl wanted to go w/ them as is or see if we can get 'em upgraded first. I figure it's better just to at least try and see if we can get them upgraded first, and if not, I'll just see who's interested in them as-is, get a list of confirmed ppl, and go from there.
