Anyone imported a FD from USA to Canada?

I was told I need to change the front re-bar/crashbar to part #fd07-50-070b and was curious if this rebar will fit a 99 front end?

yes it will fit. my dad imported a us fd to quebec back in 01. Basically, the re-bar from us is the same one as the one from canada, just a different colour . If i'm not mistaken, the one from us is white and the one from canada is black.

good luck,
Max

Did it fit the 99 spec bumper tho? Or did it require trimming?
So if they are the same why would canada customs require it to be changed to meet safety standards?

Of course it would require trimming, just like the US spec rebar does.

I thought people just bought the 99 conversion kits that came with crashbars that dont require trimming...

The part YOU need to pass the RIV inspection, is the CANADIAN rebar for the 93-98 front end. The US rebar is a 4km/hr rebar, the canadian one has to be 8kh/hr.

I don't think they'll accept a 99 spec rebar because it's not on their list. You'd have to get the Canadian rebar to pass the inspection, then modify it to fit the 99 spec lights.
