I am looking for some block off plates for my car so I can weld them on the manifolds. So no holes are needed and just wondering if anyone makes and sells them? Also for how much?

 

You will need aluminum ones. You can actually make your own. Check eBay for scrap aluminum and get a few pieces of plate aluminum. Use your gaskets (or parts) as templates and a jig-saw, band saw, or scroll saw to cut them out.

 

I posted a dxf template a while back. They have holes in them, but you can delete them from the dxf quite easily. Search for "block off plate template". Why do you want to weld them on anyway?

 

Just to be sure they are well sealed. I also think it looks better. Thanks for the help.

 

If you use your old gaskets, they will seal properly. As far as looks go, you will need to do a lot of sanding and polishing unless you like the bead look.

 

Also you'll have to be a pretty good welder to be sure you don't have a pinhole leak in your aluminum weld. Personally I'd want the ability to get rid of them, but I suppose it can work either way.
