When mine blew I was doing an autocross, coming out of a circular turn strong and when I went into third gear I heard the oddest sound. It was later descibed to me by Ari as the "you lose buzzer". It sounds like you ground a gear but...that's your apex friend.

I was running fast times and none of my gauges showed any signs of distress, then pow...bye bye engine. I know every rotary pops differently, but that's how mine went...like a thief in the night.

As long as you don't send tiny metal bits into every nook and cranny of your engine, you'll be able to limp home. Hell, I drove mine around for a couple months while I was waiting for my engine to come (I'm in Italy). Figured what the hell, if I ruin my turbos I'll have an excuse to go single

when the odometer turned 60,001....
they do give warning before they go but sometimes its really subtle, and often different than a piston motor

I about **** my pants last night on the freeway...I've got a dp, cb, and intake, silicone hoses, strut bar, tt and boost gauge...was on the freeway last night, doing 75, got passed quickly by an integra, I let him get farther up and then proceed to let him "rabbit" for me (the theory you can drive however fast you want as long as you have a "rabbit" in front of you going as fast or fater...) and pushed it to about 100, he's still a bit ahead of me, and we get to a part that is not only open (can see any cops) but also hard to set up a radergun b/c of concrete walls, etc, and I stomp the accelerator, and while I roar forward, I watch my boost gauge jump to 14...on stock turbos and stock ecu(no comments on ecu unless you want to mail me $$$ to help me buy a new one) and I IMMEDIATELY take my foot off of the accelerator, drop back into a few inches worth of vacuum, but scared the hell out of myself...everything is fine, but I was scared that I was going to blow a turbo or a seal...

Hey man just get something simple like a Dawes devices vavle for now. It's only like $30, and it will help you from spiking like that while still being able to set yourself to 10psi or so.

Here ya go
http://www.dawesdevices.com/boost.html

It has a check valve in it. Basically you set your desired boost level, and if you over boost, the check valve opens up allowing more pressure to reach the wastegate thus opening it up more and releasing more exhaust from the turbos. I had one and it worked great

Enjoyed it while it last

I finally got my engine running a little better than it was; no boost above 3psi rough idle stalling at idle ect
and hard starting. I put back some of the stuff that a took of the engine like a few soleniods the fuel resisto and a relay and the engine ran semi good for two days. I missed the power the car produced in the past so I decide to take it for a spin on the drag strip thursday night rolling start in first gear it was a rush 17 psi indicated on the boost gauge hit second gear spun some tires and apex seals away. Ever hear the sound of a 22 inch cut john deer that the way a blown engine sounds. I managed to start the car up and limped home. upon reaching home I did a compression test 55psi on the rear rotor and 0 psi on the front rotor.
And got 7 pounds of boost tring to make it up a hill on my injired engine.

apex seals anyone?
Engine rebuild was on order anyway.
