Question Anyone have an idea How Much a tranny weighs for shipping purposes ??

I'm about to ship a tranny but don't know how much it weighs. I guess I will look through my manual and add the weight of the pallet as well. Anyone ever ship one...or have figures on how much this thing would weight. Just the tranny, nothing else attatch to it. Thanks guys.

I think jimlab posted tranny weights once. You might be able to search on that.

(NOTE: This is not a "use the search, idiot!" message.)

It can;t be that heavy.. I picked up my auto tranny and put it in the car when i had to move it.. as well as the manual when i had to put it on the tranny rack to install it... I shipped just my short block and that bitch was HEAVY!!! for about $150.. I etimated the weight to be about 150 to the shipping company.. and i didn't even pack it well but they picked it up and shipped it fast back to pettit.. and nothing went wrong..
Better if you can ship from a buisness though.. cheaper then residentail..

NO hassle in sign up or anythign.. they just took down my info, i paid by cc and boom they were there next day... =) good luck

I recently had a complete motor with 5speed tranny shipped from the east coast to me. The total crate weight was 815lbs.
