Anyone ever used a non-cali ECU on a cali car?

just curious. I'm about to do it (finally) and am wondering if anyone else has screwed anything up by doing it.

A non-Cali ECU will not control the EGR. No problems otherwise.

I would not remove the EGR, instead use blockoff plate. Visual inspection for smog may be an issue.
