anyone ever make a powerlimiter?

ok here is the deal, in our country the government is insane,
modding your car and tuning it is allmost completely illigal
fines are insane.
the tuning sircle have survived on that the dmv has had no method of measuring our power. but now they have installed dynos.
one example of a fine is, 100hk+ = about 10-17000$ or more in fines:S
so what im wondering is this, have anyone ever made a system that shuts down most of the engines power. it has to be remote controled (we cant do **** to the car once we have been pulled over for technical controll) boostcontroller is no good, they will just turn upp the boost when itsn on the dyno
im thinking of something that lowers ignition voltage or something?
we are many that REALLY need something like this to be safe, getting caught now means selling your house or worse:S:S
please advise (and dont say dont mod your car, who wants to drive stock:P)

OK here's a crazy idea.

Use the stock double throttle system to make your car have poor power. We all know that the double throttle system makes the car drive like **** when the engine is cold.

Instead of letting the CAR decide when to use the double throttle system, you hook it up so that YOU decide. Then you mount a hidden switch near the driver's seat. If you get pulled over or need to take the car for a test, you just flip the switch and the double throttle never allows full airflow. It will run like complete and total **** I am pretty sure. Very rich too though....

Do they really test the car right on the side of the road? Or do they give you a ticket to go to a special inspection station?

hmmm, that doesnt sound to stupid

they dont give you a ticket, they round us up like cattle an force us to drive to the nearest dmv test station, often with a cop in the passenger seat (hence the remote controll power disabeling)
ive heard of a supra that got caught last weekend, 700hp. 100,000$fine
cali is nothing compared to norway, damn soslialist commies (cars are bad.werybad.and so on)

For series 6, cut the wire coming out of pin 3O. The side that is connected to the solenoid, hook into one end of a toggle switch. Hook the other end into any source of ignition power (this will not require much current). Flip the switch, car will run drastically slower.

Good idea Wargasm.

And yeah it's no joke how **** is in Norway. i have a couple friends from there. Few people who live in major cities have cars. Gas prices are rediculous due to taxes. And they will give you a DUI if you drink one beer (.00 legal limit) and give your friends a DUI too if they are in the car.

thanks, i will check my uim tomorrow, i have removed most of the extra crap, but not the dobblethrottle (its disabeled, but not removed, if i allso could find a remotecontrolled relay, this would be the perfect sollution

allso open to other ideas

driving limit in norway is, 0,2 so cant even drink a light beer:P

Hmm, here's an even STEALTHIER idea to avoid the need for a switch. You need to be single turbo and have a PFC, Commander, and Datalogit for this. The PFC has a built-in rpm switch capability that is adjustable with the sequential turbo settings.

Enabling sequential turbo control would then have the PFC switch +12V at the toggle rpm on the charge control pin. Then you use that 12V signal to activate the double throttle solenoid. I'm not sure if you can go lower than 2500rpm and have it do anything. There's not a chance in hell anybody at the DMV would figure that one out, and you don't have anything the cops can take from you. But you would have to remember to enable it right as you are getting pulled over.

A decent remote start system can do auxiliary remote switches if you do want to go that route. But here's the deal--I think the double throttle needs to see +12V continuously. So a momentary remote switch that only pulses a signal for a few seconds would not work reliably, unless it were used as a trigger to enabled something else that would be able to keep ignition power on the solenoid.

yeah when you see the po' po' in your rearview, go to etc. --> function select --> seq. turbo control and you will immediately cut the ***** off your wankel.

of course TEST that thoroughly... you will be the first one to attempt it. Make sure your double throttle plumbing has a check valve installed, those actuators run on vacuum.

hold on, I just re-read my post.

I got it mixed up. The double throttle valve needs to see ground-- the "engine temperature below 80 C" value in the first image I posted, not +12V. The turbo control pin can supply a switched ground. It is pin 4R. The turbo control switches at the same time as the charge control. Everything else should be the same.

Here is the correction I am making to what I said before.

What about running your boost controller to a hidden location.

And they are risking blowing your engine just turning up the boost. I would sue the **** out of them for that.

This might work. There are 2 solenoids near the rats nest that work to control boost. Before my friend bought his car, someone had accidentally switched the plugs so that each plug went to the wrong solenoid. This resulted in a maximum boost of 7 psi. As I recall, one of the solenoids had a white dot on the plug, and a white dot on the receptacle so that you would know which one went where. Switching may result in a max of 7 psi, depending on mods to your car.

This obviously isn't remote controlled, but they won't detect it if you have to go in for testing.

i cant limit boost, im singelturbo and minimum boost is 11psi
but if i havent removed all the connectors (dont remember) il try to hock upp the dobblethrottle,
the remote is allready on the way.
if i van i will try to make it so i can use both seQ controll and remote to turn on the dobblethrottle.

If you have time to mess with the commander, just set the rev limit to 5k rpm. Most cars don't rev nearly as high as a rotary, so whoever is doing the test shouldn't want to take it up to 8k.

Or if you are really looking to install some sort of toggle, install a switch to the power wire of the leading coil. The car will run on trailing only, but will not make any power. We just had a single turbo in for tuning that the owner had relocated the coils. He did a bad job wiring the leading, so it was not getting any power, could not get it over 200rwhp, fixed the problem and it put down 410rwhp @ 1bar.

hmm, killing of the leading might be a good idea to
will it be able to start on just the trailing?
and will it harm the engine in any way (other than fouling the crap out of my plugs)

It will start, run and drive on trailing only. It will pull lower vacuum and foul the plugs. This customer had been driving around for 3 years this way, until he finally scheduled it in for tuning and I found the problem. I would not recommend doing this long term, but if you are just trying to beat a power test, this is a way to cut the power off.
