anyone ever bring back the redline buzzer after getting a PFC?

From that, I'd think it's GOTTA be either wiring, or ECU related??

I still have the shift buzzer on the FB, and it's nice and all, but it ain't nothin compared to the FD's

sold--no longer in debt
My buzzer still works.. and I have a PFC. But it's not like I can actually hear it unless I have the windows up and I'm listening for it.. and I still have a main cat (gutted). My FC's redline buzzer was LOUDDDD.. even with a 3" straight pipe (no muffler) I could still hear it.

Yet Rynberg's 95 has this problem and my 94 does also. I had replaced my blower switch and it worked for a month then stopped working again. I have traced it to the power FC unit itself.
I gave up on it and just did my custom wiring and now the AC freezes the car. hell, I get frost out of the vents!!

How did you fix your A/C? Ever since I put in my PFC I have had no A/C. Compressor will not kick on. If I want A/C I jump the relay. Do you have a link?

Snort & Tango, thanks. The plot thickens hehe.
Chris, I hate to break it to ya, but this is an old thread, and Zero hasn't been on the forum since last September...so you prob won't be hearing back from him anytime soon
I feel you man. I LOVE not having a rev limiter. I literally use it as a shift buzzer Man I love my FB...
"Doctor in training" is the term they tell us to use But that's pretty tentative at this point, cuz I'm pretty tired of all the complete garbage they're putting us through...

I did not know rx7 has a rev buzzer, so what rpm does it suppose to come on. does it come out of the speaker? or is it like the low coolant buzzer?? I guess there is always something new to learn on our seven.. and I guess now I have one more problem with my fd.. man .... there is always something with this car..

Chino, I don't recall what rpm it comes on at...I'm guessing 7800 or so, and rev limiter kicks in at 8200 rpm IIRC... Oh and it's def. not from the speaker...it's like a low coolant buzzer. The sound comes from the instrument cluster IIRC. It's been sooo long
Do you have a Power FC? Oh and where in VA are ya? (Man...ALL these new VA FD guys are coming outta the woodworks this month!)

OMG! Look what I found by ACCIDENT!!! From this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/redline-coolant-buzzer-102236/
Haven't tried it yet...but still...it's a LOT more progress than I've had thus far!

I actually did not know there was a CPU'#2', and was going nuts trying to figure out where it was - not in any diagram I could find in all 600 pages of manual. I finally figured out it was the little black box the wire harness I was tracing per manual. It had 'cpu' printed on it. DOH!
Anyways, according to the diagnostics, page C2-34 ('93 manual), I got to Step 2 - replace CPU #2 if voltage other then battery - and my voltage was less then 120mV.
The manual lists the following as culprit for non-functioning over-rev buzzer:
Wire harness (CPU 2 to gauge cluster)
CPU 2
Tachometer
I have not actually pulled out CPU 2 yet and took it apart, so not sure - but I did take apart my gauge cluster and, unless the speaker(s) are microscopic and hidden in the same area as the 'motor', pretty sure they are not located there.
Calling around to get a price on CPU 2 tomorrow.

CPU 2 is listed as a possible culprit as well. CPU 2 is located under the drivers side kick panel, a black plastic box almost dead centered behind the panel.

back from the dead. I apologize if there is a more recent post on this.
Has anyone figured out exactly where the buzzer is comming from?
I just took out my center speaker and the buzzer went away, yet people are sayin thats not it.
If it is the center speaker you guys think i can wire up a mini speaker in there since ive got the center gauge pod?
