Anyone else have startup problems at first

Did I search for startup problems and nothing came in return.

This should be a simple and quick thread, but I was wondering if you guys have trouble starting the car sometimes. Not the engine turning over, but just when you turn the key to turn it on, it does nothing, it just clicks. This seems to happen to me when the car has been sitting for 1 or 2 days.

Anyone else get this problem?

Yea this is exactly it, do you know if this is a problem or how we could go about fixing this? It has taken me almost 5-6 times for it to finally start and I recently tried to do it and it drained my battery

Does it click once or multiple times?

its either the contacts in the ignition barrel or the solenoid in the starter. one guaranteed way of starting it if its the starter solenoid is to quickly flick the key back and forward, after the 3rd-4th flick it will start. A rotary workshop showed me how they did it as they get quite a few with starter solenoid problems, not just FD.

I'd imagine it's either the starter motor, solenoid, or possibly the clutch switch. Most likely the motor or solenoid though.

Yep, I just recently started having starting problems as well. Today after driving the car to my parents, I turned around to go home 20 minutes later and it wouldn't start. It was cranking and cranking and cranking, and kept catching (starting) for a couple of cycles, then would die out. Didn't matter if you gave it no gas or floored it, still wouldn't go. Finally, let it sit for about 10 minutes, tried it again and it started. Idled around 200 rpms for about 10 seconds (almost like the leading coil wasn't firing or something) then the idle came up to normal. I notice my FD will do this once in a while (start kinda rough, but it's always started before), but it's been doing it more frequently so I'm getting worried. Today I had a theory that the coil overheated, but I don't know how legit that may or may not be.
