I've used 80watt bulbs before. No wires melting but the lifespan shortens to about 6mo-1yr.

I'm currently using NYKO's...check'em out...I believe mine are90/100W and I haven't had a problem yet. I love the blue-ish tint it gives off:

piaa is crap next to Mtec. even the 80 watt bumbs look orange next to the mtec's. Mtec does run at about 110-130 watts which are suppose to look like 150-170 but who cares, they are very bright. BTW: My brother has been running them for over a year and 1/2 with no burnt wires or anything. Their just freaken bright. I can spot him about a 1/4-1/2 mile behind me when we drive at night cuz his lights so bright!!! HID is still brighter then Mtec though (No incadecent bulb I have ever seen even came close to what HID puts out). Ya gotta pay to play (although HID is not about 300 bucks only so its not that bad anymore. There are some kits that are still $600+ though; Shop around)

For me personally, I'm not going to invest in an HID kit anytime soon. I'm happy with my current lights, they're bright enough for me as is.

Maybe when I turn 35 or something and my eyes start to go. (Just kidding for all you 35'ers..hehehe)

The real reason is I plan on getting a new lighting kit, and I haven't figured out what I want yet..so it would make no sense.

In researching headlight alignment I found a nice site that
discusses technical aspects of auto headlights.

http://www.autooptiks.com/front.htm

Their information on headlight alignment is here

Actually, muzik, I'd have to rip them out to find out. They were in the car when I bought it. Whatever they are..I'm going to buy more of them when they finally go.

They're really nice, and give off a nice blue tint, also...not ricer color..but more like a bluish-white color.

Well let us know, I would like to know. I upgraded mine with those LED ones. It looks very nice, is a nice blueish color but not ricer. A lot of people think is mini HIDs in there but when i pop up the lights i have the ugllly OEM yellowish color of regular bulbs. They are sylvania, whiter than OEM but compared to the LEDs, it looks dirty yellow

Is this the bulbs your talking about? They are fairly cheap as well if this is them.

Not really..I bought mine at a local tuner shop.

BUT..they're all over the net for sale. Go do a search on google, and you'll get tons of links to them.

Also, I paid $25 bucks for my set...see if you can find a price that's comparable.
