any one running a high horsepower Mazda re-man?

Anyone in here running a higher HP Mazda 2mm re-man?
Have you had any problems?
The reason I ask is my motor is a Mazda re-man with very, very good compression and I want to make 350-400 rwhp with either the twins or thru a single turbo. The twins being more on the 350 side and the single closer to the 400. Or should I just spend my money now and get a good 3mm street port re-build thru RX7.com.

Mine is running 350 on stock twins and re-man. No problems so far. (make sure ALL of the reliability mods are done first)

That's true of any engine.

Nobody does. However, ports and seals have nothing to do with that; it's all about the tuning. You can have the best seals in the world, but they won't hold up to improper tuning.

My dad made 290 at the wheels on his stock reman that he installed himself. stock rebuilt twins at 12 psi, intake, dp, catback, profec b, purple box.

With all of the remans we open up, everything is always in good shape......typically new rotors and rotor housings, and the irons and e shaft are used but within spec. Scrub here on the forum had a new motor. New everything. That was a nice surprise .

One thing that seems hit or miss is the factory clearancing of the side seals--sometimes they are a bit too tight between the corner seals and need to be ground down. That's another advantage a ported motor has over a stock reman......if your builder has his **** together, the motor will be put back together in better shape than it was taken apart.
