rotormotor, i think you should come up with a standard that you will get made, and see how many people will get it. seems like most people want white faces. i would also like to say that i think that the oil pressure gauge should be kept instead of the boost guage. i searched a little bit, and it seems pertty difficult to switch to the boost guage. but its all up to you. pick the design that seems to be most popular, post all the specs and see how the response is. oh and dont forget, to list a price if you can get 1.

im still working on a price. it will depend on what company i use, and how many are made but i will try to come up with a range.

ok, basically ive gotten the most response for white faces...so if this happens, the first run would be *white faced* although there are still not that many people on-board. it seems that everyone wants to keep the oil pressure gauge (and it makes the most sense) so that is how it will be.

***[so in a nutshell here would be the design for the first run: White faced gauges w/ amber display (same as we have now), 99+ font on all gauges, oil pressure gauge will stay, 0 RPM @ 6oclock on the tach (just need to reposition needle after face is changed).]

is anyone decent w/ photoshop....id like to make a mock-up of a final design (but im retarded when it comes to photo-imaging).

im still working on a price.. i think i have found the company that im going to use. there are a few options that im talking to them about. to have them produced to factory standards (face printing, and the "dished" tach (look closely @ your tach) will raise the price... but for our cars i think most of us want the best quality we can get.

please tell people that you know about this because it *will not happen* if there are not enough people. i am running the idea of a white face, and grey face run simultaneously by them...but this may not be possible. ill update everyone as soon as possible. heath

please let me know if your interested people!!

I like the Spirit R white face, count me in if it looks as good as it does in the first pic. Price would be good to know. I was looking for a nice dash replacement for when I do my 5-speed swap... don't want the PRDSL on there.

just so you know...spirit r is grey w/out a "dished" tach (as far as i can tell). white is the regularr 99+ spec with "dished" tach like the 93+.
"I was looking for a nice dash replacement for when I do my 5-speed swap... don't want the PRDSL on there. " .....heard that

id be interested in some spirit R look-alikes for the right price...also, would there be a way to linearize the stock water temp gauge and put actual degrees on it so it wouldnt be totally useless? I think that would be awesome.

im not sure how to mod the gauge. someone told me about a year ago.... its possible, but someone would have to do a little research on it (do the mod, and check temps with an accurate aftermarket temp gauge). anythings possible with these gauges, just that most people will need to agree on a design... (especially one that requires doing something extra to the car). anyone want to comment... the floors all yours

yea i kno it would have to be done all one way, but if it all came packaged together it would be very beneficial and eliminate for yet another aftermarket gauge and pod.

this is not for a gauge cluster replacement, it is for new *gauge faces* which will replace your current ones. thanks heath

ok are people interested in having a funtional linear temp gauge with tick marks/temps on the face? or does it not matter that much? we are starting to get away from "exact" 99 replicas but this seems like it would be a great idea... we wouldnt need to double up on temp gauges... and those who dont have a "real" temp gauge as of now (shame on you) will have one without much fuss.

those of you who are considering this tell me how you feel..... it may delay things a little bit but it may be worth it the other possibility is to produce the marked temp gauges separatly and people could get them if they feel like it. would this be better...a completely separate kit (marked temp faces could probably be produced for any style since it would be a small run(meaning 93black, 99 spirit grey, 99 spirit white)?

i hope im not muddying the watter with all of these choices... its just that these are being produced for the forum, and so i want as much input coming from the forum as possible. i dont want to make up a set of gauges and say heres what i decided..hope you like it... you know what i mean. heath

ok, goracer brought this up in another thread... can someone comment on this... its important
//^ ok, the only problem with changing the faces is loosing calibration. Out of six places I called in both Orange and LA counties, only one would install my white face gauges.//

ive only played with the tach gauge but it has an autimatic stopping point at i believe 9K RPM

Yes, the temp gauge should be linear. Mazda should have made it so in the first place.
