Any Ideas

I will need a new clutch soon and was just looking for some good brands for rx7's
I do majority of track and canyons, but will still need to do some 1/4 miles. looking for what everyones looking for, good price and a good clutch

I will get flamed for asking this but.... in the end i was only looking to get about 350 hp out of my car on high boost (thats for 1/4 miles). only like 280-300 for track and canyon. any ideas on if i should go single or stay twins or even just biggers twins, i like the power band of the twins.

Stick with stock, 99, or BNR twins for your goals.

An ACT Street/Strip clutch would fit your needs perfectly.

Ditto on the ACT SS. I did quite alot of reading here and elsewhere before changing mine out last spring. It was hard to find anyone that was unhappy with ACT SS for a street driven car. And IIRC, several people admittedly abused them a bit, on the track and strip but still reported good durability. One other thing I learned from that search is that it's a good idea to change out the clutch fork when you do upgrade. The old ones often fatique and break, especially with a stiffer PP, and they're not that expensive.

I've been very happy with the centerforce. Rock solid grip but very streetable and easy to drive around town if you're in the 350-400HP range.

99 turbos are a rip off. If your gonna upgrade get the BNR's. The 99's arent really an upgrade.

And I agree with the Act SS clutch. Get the extreme pressure plate. You will be very happy. Its very streetable, but locks up when need be.

How the hell can you say 99-turbos are a rip-off? $2500 for brand new turbos that spool quicker than anything else on the market is not a rip-off. No, they don't make that much more power than the 93-95 turbos, but not everyone is trying to make 400 rwhp.....

The BNR Stage 3 route is only valid if you have a good core set of turbos, as the BNR uses your existing housings. Most high mileage turbo housings aren't usable as a core for a sequential setup as they have too many cracks. My 85k mile turbos that were just pulled off my engine on Friday are completely unusable -- the bridge piece at the housing is completely cracked in half. Therefore, if I want to go the BNR route, I'm going to have to find a core set that has good condition housings. And even then, you're paying $2350 to reuse housings.

I'm not saying that the BNRs are bad or a rip-off either, but you should know what you are really buying.

Also, the normal HD pressure plate seems to work fine for most people. I doubt he'll need the Extreme plate given his stated uses and power levels for the car.

I like my spec stage 3. Very confy and has lots of grip. I'm also pushing about the HP that you want out of the stock twins for track canyon if not a little bit more.
