Any guesses what this is for?

I'm going to take a wild guess, flux capasitor attachment nut or oil injector thingy

WaLieN almost got it.
It's a brand new oil pan drain plug that my buddy drilled a hole through. He used his lathe and then tapped it for 1/8" NPT. My Autometer oil temp sensor will go in the hole.

But my guess was a coolant sender adaptor plug/screw for an aftermarket coolant gauge.

I have had my oil temp sender in that location for over a year. No problems ........ except one day after, when the wire from the sender melted , and ground out the gauge. I re-routed the wire and things have worked well since then.

My car has stock 94 suspension, so it rides fairly high compared to others. No rubbing problems.
Sonny, how about a pic showing how far the sender will stick out from the adapter plug?

Ok, cat's outta the bag. I'll be sending strippers to ejmack for his guess.
I knew Adam would know because I got the idea from him. He told me that his VDO sender is actually a drain plug with a spade on it. Since i'm using Autometer stuff, I couldn't use the VDO sensor, so I chose this route.
Pic with the sender in it:

The sender does stick out kinda far, so I'll have to put it on the car and see if I think it will be a problem. My car is not lowered at all and I don't have any plans to lower it, so I'm hoping that it will be alright.

Edit: Just wanted to add that the tip will be shortened quite a bit. I can remove the outer nut and the outer washer and cut the tip off there. The sender wire will sit between the inner nut and the white nylon piece.

On my old FC I actually drilled and tapped a hole in the banjo bolt for the oil cooler line to the block. Worked really well - nice and clean.
I've helped a guy change oil that had the drain plugged tapped like that - the wire gets to be a pain in the butt
. I'd much rather have the sensor out of the way.
But, it looks damn good!

I'm assuming a similar banjo bolt exists for the FD? Where abouts is it located. I'd much rather put the sender there. I used the drain plug bolt because it was the only thing that really came to mind.
Thanks,
Sonny
