the thing about drifting your fd is that youll eventually crash (i have 2X but amazingly have sustained no damage). i suggest getting a fc and getting good at that first and then advancing on. even then, youll eventually crash and most guys with fd's dont have the money or means to repair the type of damage that comes out with sliding around at insane speeds. if they did, they probally would have vettes/vipers/porsches ect

Just need some suspension really, thats about it so you dont have buttloads of roll. Really though you can do it all stock, just got to have control. Try an open parking lot or something before you take it anywhere else..

I do it in mine. Been to a few events, and plan on doing more. Here a shot of me from Drift Day 16 in SoCal. You can do it bone stock quite easily. The main area of concern is in suspension, cause stock FD's love to roll.

Strange thing is, I bought this car to road race with, and my previous car, a S13 240SX, I road raced that, when I actually wanted to drift with it.

I saw some vids of him trying to drift. I guess he "used" to drift hehe. Reza also drifts his FD ive been to two drift events w/ him already and this sundays going to be a 3rd.

Yah.. skunks is right ive already crashed my car drifting.

NEatasMEAT your lucky you live in socal i had a blast at DD6. Wish i could go drive my FD down to socal for an event. Hmmm maybe one of these driftdays ill tow my car down there.

It's kind of hard to drift a 3rd gen with a T-78 (Vosko).

After watching a few episodes of Initil-D I found myself on the stuck on the edge of the Mountain with me FD. Got towed out and decided im going to only drift in big open spaces now. Was going to post a pick of me drifting but can't...

Stock car with exception of DP - learn how to drive first is the approach im trying to take

I'm sorry but if you drift at all on an open road and hurt your FD, you deserve it.

From what I see and know, it involves a lot of ROOM, more room than what you have between the double-yellow and white line on the road in a turn.

This means danger to others, your car, and yourself.

Drifting is so fun to do in anything, from a golf cart to a quad. But as for in a car, it should remain in a safe parking lot or the track (legal stuff).

Other than that, I hope this fad drops soon, a friend of mine is always asked from ricers "do you drift?!" as if it's the only way to drive...

hmmmm.....I disagree. I'll say the "fad" is getting out of control when I see all the kids in the area trying to drift every corner.....until then, drifting is just highly publicized right now.

Just like anything in life you have to do it wisely and in moderation.

Drifting in a parking lot doesn't get the same effect

that is true Adam. Once that starts happening it will be bad, and people will give drifting a real bad name.

Yeah, but fortunately I don't think it'll happen. When kids get a car these days it is most likely FWD. Unless their idiots and try to drift them ofcourse (like the Civic in the parking lot of Rotary Revolution who lost control and crashed into a field, ofcourse). Hopefully, the older more mature crowd will have the majority of the RWD vehicles.

bwahahahaha

in anycase, its good that you got wide open spaces to practice in, there arent any in Hawaii (except on military bases which i have been banned from ) even our track is very tight (some turns are tighter then 2 lane turns which are on the street).

from the japanese D1 Videos and street drifting videos I've seen, they DO NOT take up more than two lines. Especially when the street there are much nerrower than the ones in US.

Your ignorance really shows and now I know why.

Why do you worry about these things little man, when you don't even have an FD?

I was looking at the picture, and he is going from left to right. Just look at the smoke from the rear. His wheels are in the turn.
