ok guys, I've been crunching some #'s and here is what I came up with. These are the total height of each tire sizes

225/45/16 (which is stock I believe)- 20.05"
225/40/18 (my old TE37's in the front)- 21.6"
245/35/19 (my new 19's in the front)- 22.43"

OK, going from my old wheels to my new 19's I added .83". That'll raise my car up .415". Now that I changed springs from 1" to 2" lowering, I now made the car only .585". Do you guys think it will be that bad? When I had 1" springs I never ever bottomed out or scrap. Only one time when I went down a really steep driveway. .585"? That's nothing right?

Plus you have to keep in mind that my tire size in the front is about 2.4" taller than stock. So it'll be 1.2" higher up than if I had stock wheels/tires. I could see a problem with stock wheels and 2" drop but my 19's I don't think will have a prob.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I want to here what you guys think

Just to clarify, the Tanabe doesn't lower 2". It only lower it less then an inch up front and about an inch in the rear. The official number that I got from a Tananbe rep. when I called them is 25mm up front and 28mm in the rear and this is for the Super Down Precedeo too. I don't think these car can handle a 2" drop, that's why I think no Japanese tuner makes a 2" drop springs for the FD.

The tanabe super down's do lower a FD 2" or that is at least what tanabe says, and they do make them because www.rx7.com sells them and I am pretty sure jason does too..

From: Minnesota, now in FL and I dont think I'm goin back
I just ordered my 18's. If I am going to run a 35 sidewall tire in front an 30 in back will my car look too high? Should I lower it before I put on the rims? I thought with those tire sizes that they are very close to stock so it wont raise the car. But looking at a pic earlier in this thread the car looked way to high. Will this happen with my car? And if I do need to lower it will I be ok with just buying springs at first?

I have them on my car and I've measured it too. It's no where near 2", just like the Tanabe rep. told me, it's 25mm up front and 28mm in the rear. The 2" is their advertisement for most cars, Integra, Civic, etc. that needs the 2". If you go to their website, it says up to 2". Up to is the key here. That's why I got in contact with them to verify the exact drop on these springs for my car. I wouldn't have bought them if it actually lowered 2". That would be crazy.

Re: This one's kinda low

I think that this would be better suited on an aircraft carrier than the grass. Very nice, and almost cartoonish looking ride.

I measured it before I installed the springs. If it was 2", my front fender would have gone lower then my tires. I don't know about you, but stock was pretty low. I don't know where you got your information, but I got mine from the source. Maybe you'd like to email them.

Your numbers are a little off...

P225/50-16 (OEM) is ~24.86" tall, uncompressed by weight
P225/40-18 is ~25.09"
P245/35-19 is ~25.75"

Your sidewall height is the tire width (245mm) multiplied by the aspect ratio (.35) = 85.75mm.

Multiply by 2 (171.5mm) to account for both sidewalls, and divide by 25.4 to convert to inches = 6.75".

Add the nominal rim diameter (19") and you get a total of ~25.75".

Your numbers appear to have been calculated with the height of only one sidewall.

Thanks Jim, I knew it was one way or the other. I was too cold to go out and measure it myself. BTW, did you sell those coilovers you had?
