i am always amazed when someone comes out w something new for our 30 year old cars given there's not a lot of still around. i adapted my FD to a Tremec T56 6 speed in 2013. i have loved every minute of it. when they came out w an uprated version (Magnum F) i made the switch. it has the same syncros as the C8 Corvette etc.
i have been casually aware of Grannis offering some sort of option but i hear mixed reviews of Grannis.
one of my engine customers just broke his sequential box (OUCH$) and is going Magnum F. he sent me a link to an option that looks really nice.
i would not use the tunnel supports to tie in the rear trans mount. they offer a shifter relocation. i really like my Sikky shifter. rather than machine a piece out of the trans case as Grannis does they use an offset starter which is the right way to solve the problem. modded Quicktime bellhousing. thumbs up for engineering.

Out of curiosity, how much taller is the Sikky or otherwise shifter. The few photos I have seen, from any swap, look like it's a lot taller than our stock FD.
i have 2 engine customers doing this currently. BTW, the tunnel fit is amazing. there actually is an indent in the FD tunnel to fit the reverse lockout solenoid! Mazda must have anticipated the Magnum F in 1992. love the 2.66 first. the stock first is a total joke.
notice the key item, the adapter plate that is between the bellhousing and the trans. i made that in 2013. 22 drilled and tapped holes that all have to perfectly align the input shaft. i used an automatic bellhousing as it positions the starter forward to clear the wider trans case. SS did it righter by using an offset starter. Grannis did it wronger by machining a bunch of aluminum off the trans case. and a Quicktime bellhousing... that's a plus.
nice.
Love the transmission. shifts fine at 9.

I contacted them for a quote and they gave me $6,795.77 back for a quote shipped to me in MD, for their standard rx7 setup. The only question I had was that it said it can handle "up to 7800 rpm shifts" so does that mean you'd have to set your redline to 7800? I guess I should've asked them, lol.

I also spoke with them yesterday. I mentioned that their website only has the master calendar instructions and not the full set. Zach from SST emailed me the install instructions that I have attached. I was reviewing what this kit has and doesn't have and received a similar quote. Looking at the install guides, it looks like we have to trim the motor mounts.
In addition to what they say is included in the kit, it also comes with the stock GM Throw-out, clutch lines, fluids. It does not come with a clutch, driveshaft or a solution for the rear diff. Zach was going to speak with his engineer to see if they have a solution for a rear diff mount and get back to me.
I do like that it has the tranny mount and you dont have to remove carpet or weld anything else to hold the transmission. I will report back when I get more details on the kit.
when i installed my original Tremec 6 speed (2013) T56 i heard lots of opinions as to being able to shift at higher revs. my trans came out of a 50,000 mile 2000 Camaro. i never had a hint of syncros and shifted at 9000 w no problem. the Magnum F is light years better than the T56.
"I don't think I'd trust the 4 little M6 bolts to be up to the task of supporting the transmission under load..."
100% agree plus the modest amount of spot welds have been known to give. you don't ever want to have a loose rear tailshaft.
i simply drilled 3 holes thru the tunnel/carpet. no way does it come loose. 12 years of service to date.

So maybe I am reading their kit wrong, but I assume in place of the bolts you have through your tranny tunnel, their steel black brace mounts to the stock FD frame holes and supports the T56 from the bottom. IE no other mounts needed?
it looks like their brace uses the tunnel stiffener mounts. 4 8mm bolts which would be fine but the tunnel stiff mount is spot welded to the tunnel and has been know (by the v8 guys) to pull the spot welds off. it was not meant to support the tailshaft. someone should inform SS.
