Another Silicone Vacuum Hose Kit Choice
First off, I searched and didn't find any info on this company, so I thought I would share in hopes it would be beneficial to someone else. I found a company called Hi Performance Store (ironically enough they advertise on the forum via Google Ads...which I JUST now noticed) that sells a very high quality silicone vacuum hose kit for the FD. I was going to go with Hose Techniques, but when I called them, they didn't have enough hose to make a complete FD kit and were about 4-6 weeks out (kinda weird for a company that specializes in silicone hose kits...kind of like Famous Dave's running out of ribs)
I found the kit on eBay originally, but here is the site:
http://www.hiperformancestore.com/Mazda.htm
Anyways, the kit is fantastic, it is very thick walled silicone hose and you get PLENTY of it, and really lots of extra to come in handy down the road. Each hose size group is labeled with a letter of the alphabet and they explain which letters (or size that letter represents) is used for; i.e. size A is used for all solenoids. It was also nice that they send a little welcome packet with the turbo flow diagram, colored vacuum hose diagram for regular sequential twins and the colored diagram for the simplified sequential twins. I really liked that extra touch just because it made me feel like I didn't just get some generic kit, but one that was truly geared towards my specific car. Anyways, hopefully this is a little incentive or comfort for those needing a kit or already considering this one. It also comes with a nice cutter and installation lubricant.

Looks good! BTW, the Hose Techniques RX-7 kit gives you WAY more than you need.
The biggie for me on silicone kits -
- MUST be 3.5mm hose diameter on the smaller stuff. 4mm or some standard size doesn't fit tight. It should fit nice and tight and be difficult to pull off. With good silicone hose you don't need to use zip ties or any foolishness, they grip tight enough to do all the work.
- Thick walls so it won't kink in bends. Some stuff has really thin walls and easily kinks in some of the tighter bends in the rat's nest. The thin stuff is also more prone to ripping and tearing.

The hose is great, very good quality and fit. Has plenty for all applications and It fits on very tightly. My car is being done right now, we thought we were going to need hose for the blow off as it is re-routed to the front but the hose size needed for this was in the kit. This kit has everything needed and great quality, I would recommend it. Of course I don't know yet how it holds up to heat but it says that it is true silicone so it should do good.

I needed to get some more hose for a buddy's engine I'm rebuilding and ran in to the same issue - Hose Techniques is out of stock. They're supposedly relocating the business and won't have any for a while and are taking a waiting list. That's pretty lame.
So, I googled around, found this -
Pure Silicone Vacuum Hose : BoostController.com LLC - America's Source for High quality turbo boost controllers, silicone hose, and more performance products - 877-836-6155- precision boost control. Turbosmart Warehouse Distributor
Their price is about HALF of Hose Techniques. After I got it in I compared it to the HT hose - same wall thickness, same resistance to kinking. Outside felt a little different, a little slicker, but no biggie there.
The engine hasn't run yet so I don't have long-term results in a hot environment but it looks promising. I never buy "kits" of hose, you just end up with WAY more than you need.

I use:
Flex Technologies - Your Silicone Hose Solution
3.5mm and 6mm
Good quality and a lot less expensive than than hose techniques

The Boostcontroller.com hoses I posted up about work great. I've used a good amount of it now, it's quality, fits good, holds up great.
I give it my stamp of approval. Price is fantastic too.
