yeah smog here in cali sucks....visual inspection of under the hood...exhaust check....accelleration simulation mode (ASM) testing for NOx on the dyno....and ofcourse the two speed idle (TSI) testing...our stock rx-7 is pretty much impossible to pass already...so strict!!

So you did a larger port and ecu in result of flame from exhaust??

Have you heard about the miss firing system.??

It's always shot flames since I gutted the exhaust before the port/ECU. Misfiring is nice, but I don't want to replace my turbos that often.

Do you have a midpipe muffler and catback !? or just a midpipe and N1 or something unrestrictive, I'm wondering if I can get flamage if I had an open exhaust

you're not understanding me JT...

from the turbos, Downpipe, Midpipe with muffler, RB Catback or something like that.

In other words no cat but 2 mufflers....

Only thing adding restriction would be the N1 catback. 3" Downpipe and midpipe. And like darkside7 said, that's just normal driving .... at WOT they get much larger!

Yes you can get flames from a midpipe that has a resonator and catback. "Rxman720b" flames all day long with his 20b Fd. Not sure about the midpipe with "muffler" because of the many differant kinds of mufflers that can be welded on the mid-pipe. Anyone with a borla xr1 in their midpipe wanna chime in about their flamage?
