Another one of them Idle problems
Another one of them Idle problems
my car idles fine from start until i put it in any gear
ex: when it first gear WITH clutch down the car shakes for a bit and idles bounced a bit and seem like its about to stall everytime it shakes.
someone said it might be the throw out bearings and its normal, but anyone else experience the same problem?
doesnt seem real normal...it idles fine at a stop which is 800-900 rpm.
but that shaking and struggling is bothering me

sounds EXACTLY like its going to stall but it comes back to life, but then againt the idle is not close to low..its around 800-900rpms
thats what got me all thinking of what it could be...

Does it do this with or without the cutch pedal pressed? Have you made any changes (under the hood) since the problem started? Have you checked your TPS anytime recently? You can always turn up the idle bleed air crew some and just except a little higher idle rpm. I do and the car just runs smoother (about 1krpm). Do you have any symptoms during driving or on decel?
theres no other symptoms or problems
just that annoying dying shake when in gear
it happens even when clutch is down
it idles fine at warmup...after a good drive, and before shutoff
just ANYTIME with the gear in, it comes up
driving me nuts...

There is a clutch switch shown on pages Z-34 and Z-35 of my 1994 factory manual, which is wired so that when the pedal is down, it is closed (grounded) and when up it is open (ECU terminal 1Q will be at +12V when open). Maybe your switch is stuck open or has lost a connection? The connection to the ECU is on its blue with orange stripe wire, and its ground connection is on its black wire. The actual chassis ground point is #7, which is to the left of and slightly up from the clutch switch itself, and grounds several of the dash harness ground wires.
that actually sounds like the problem
ill check it out and see what i can do
it just might be it since it with or without clutch down, it seems like its about to stall
