Unhappy Another one bites the dust

Just slammed my FD into a gaurdrail this weekend... After many long months of building it all came to a sudden end on RT 234 in Manassas. I was coming off an exit ramp. I hit the gas when I was off and the rear tires hit some lose derbis and next thing I know is I'm facing oncoming traffic. Rearend hit first then slammed the front into the rail. I cracked the stock rear rimv
So I think I might have major suspension dammage. We will find out in the morning. If it is a loss I will be parting out.

Yeah, that's sad to hear. Glad you're ok. Hope the car lives on though. There's too many FD's being taken out.

was there any particular reason why you hit the gas much less hit it so hard as to spin the tires right when you left the highway (was there a SUV on your *** or something)? Also, can you tell us a bit more about the story about what happened between you starting to slid and hitting the guard rail? did you over correct/not counter enuf/hit your brakes when your suppose to keep on the gas so as to not get that voilent slap back from when the tires grip again (kinda sounds like the last one if you went in to the guardrail on the right hand side of the road, or was that the guard rail on the other side of the road )???

also, did you sustain any body damage or was it all just the rear wheel which took all the impact???

I have a full suspension (not shocks, I mean the control arms etc.) and rear subframe for sale if you need a replacement.

Man dude...I feel it for you...so many of us dump so much money into our 7s...It's kinda hard to hear when someone wrecks their baby...

Glad you aren't hurt though...at least the 7's replaceable, you aren't.

I'm real sorry man, it sucks when stuff like that happens. I almost spun mine within like a week of having it, in a very similar way. It scared the **** outta me and I take it real easy, especially in corners now until I learn how to drive the thing.

Like others said, it's good that you're ok.

I had a similar scare only 2 weeks after getting mine - fortunately (very) I only scraped up some soft grass turf with the R1 lip. Even though it was real low speed (25mph), those anti-skid road cinders are real bad when combined with bad tires. I'm staying real ginger on the throttle when in turns until I get it to driving school.

Well the FD is done Progressive wrote the check. So what did I do... I went and bought a 2001 S4 today. It's pretty sweet, but I'm sure going to miss my RX7. My girlfriend was so glad to see the FD go.

I will be getting with all of you shortly and parting out my car. I have a ton of goodies.

Anybody know of any good S4 fourms. I will sure miss this fourm. I have learned so much from all of you. Thanks again
