Another New FD owner

Well sorta. I had an FD before and sold it about 6 years ago to help get a house. The deal fell through on the house and I regreted ever selling my FD ever since. Well as my wife said, if it was ment to be then I will have an FD again..... Well I guess it was ment to be!!! My first FD was pretty much stock. Just had a cat back with a mild drop rollin' on 18's. The one I just picked up is..... well.... a little more modified. Let me know what you guys think.

Car looks awesome. Must be nice to pick up an FD in modified form NOW paying the same amount than it was getting an FD 6 years ago and it was stock right?

Sometimes i wish i would have waited cause i see soo many great FD's with 99 spec converted, single turbo going for a bit more than what i paid for my FD almost stock 2 years ago.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Actually it's been a pretty rainny start to winter here. That day was only one of a few sunny days we had this whole month. Not that I'm complaining considering some of the weather that you folks see! Here are the parts list:

Engine:

13B-REW
A’PEXi AX75F82 turbo kit
custom end tanks
custom aluminum radiator (both V-mounted)
air separation tank
GReddy aluminum throttle body
Crooked Willow twin oil coolers
Indigo underdrive pulleys
Street port
A’PEXi GT exhaust system
Figher’s Garage mid pipe
A’PEXi Power FC
Power Commander
A'PEXi AVC-R
A’PEXi Master Earth system
Iridum spark plugs
Hyper Grounding system
NGK spark plug wires
Optima 51R.
550cc/1600cc injectors
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Billet Fuel Rail

Drivetrain:

5-speed manual
ACT Extreme clutch kit
C’s short shifter

Suspension:

A’PEXi N1 dampers
Cusco strut tower bar

Wheels/Tires:

Volk Gram Lights 57F Pro 18x8
18x10/Nitto NT555 225/40/18 and 265/35/18

Exterior:

C-West and C-Wings body kit
Rotary Extreme N1 carbon fiber hood
‘99-‘02 JDM FD3S taillights, turn signal, and parking lights.

Interior:

Bride EXAS III seats
Takata harnesses
Sparco steering wheel
Blaze shift ****
A’PEXi boost, water temp, oil pressure gauges
Tri-Pod center speaker gauge cluster by “ FLYRX7”
Interior color change to black

It put down 370whp at 14psi on a conservative tune. I will be getting the HKS twin power ignition that should put me pretty close to 400whp on a good tune before I have to turn up the boost..... hopefully. If not then it's cool. I was planning on getting the ingnition anyway.

Wow this is impressive indeed! So you bought Hypersports' FD? For those who dont know, Hypersports is a shop in Hawaii. You can find them at www.hypersportsracing.com. This exact Fd appeared in the April 2004 issue of Import Racer. It really is a super clean FD, but I cant believe they sold it. Good for you man. Congrats. I cant imagine that they let it go cheap.

Are the seat belts on the rear stock bar? If so move them or get a cage.

Yes it is! Trav at Hypersports had it up for sale for almost a year and nobody could come up with the cash. I picked it up for 25k. To me with what is on the car is more then a deal and can't belive that nobody else picked it up before I did. He really didn't want to sell it but he wasn't really using it and it was kinda just taking up space in his garage or the shop. I will eventually cage it. Just a matter of time.

pretty cool ride

stock map sensor...isn't going to allow you to turn up the boost, change that and you'll really know what that car is capable of.

and I hope you never need warm air coming thru your vents...looks like the heater core is bypassed...hopefully not cracked, that's a bitch to change.

The car is run off of the Power FC and boost is controlled by the AVC-R. I rarely ever use the heater in cars. Here in Hawaii it don't get that cold. Plus this isn't my daily driver. This car is "The Toy".

you need a sensor to tell your "PFC" its making more boost.

I wouldn't feel safe running more boost than my sensor could read.

Wow is that the same car that was in Xhift magazine. Something about he bought it off of Ebay then totally redid everything. Also are you on Oahu or one of the neighbor Islands, want to know if there is a chance I might see it running on day as I am one Oahu.

Yeah it's running off of a 2 bar map sensor right now. It no longer utilizes the stock sensor. Thanks for the concern though!

This would be the same car. It is still on island and will be as long as I'm here! Trav hardly ever drove this car but ever since I picked it up I have put more miles on it then he had in the past year! Hahaha! If you see me don't hesitate to say wassup!

okay, I'm done with your thread; and not trying to argue

but please read more of the engine control section of an FD work shop manual, as you seem to not understand what I'm trying to tell you...(there is no way your PFC doesn't utilize the stock sensor that is wired thru the chassis harness...regardless of what boost controller you have)

I'm sorry if I misunderstood what you are saying. I am in no way trying to be argumenative. I will talk with the previous owner and see if he can clarify this situation. Cause I asked him if it could safely be boosted at where it is set at now. Seriously, thanks for the heads up and I will get this straightend out asap!
