Hi Guys,

I am new here, but not new to forums. I have searched and have not come up with anything that has fixed my problems.

I have a s7 FD that has caused me problems since I imported it.

Things I have done are: Plugs, Fuel and oil filters, Fuel pump.
It has a cat-back exhaust, HKS air filters- that's everything engine wise.

Problems-
Wont rev right through the range in neutral unless the gas pedal is feathered.
Wont rev through in gear unless its feathered and then it pops and bangs and stops accelerating.
As the car is accelerating, I can hear the turbo spool loudly although the car doesn't accelerate.

This thing is pissing me off. Please chip in if you have any ideas.

Boost leak? Do you hear any hissing around the engine bay?

 

Sounds like limp mode.

No boost leak that I can hear.

The most annoying part is that if the car has been sitting for a while- 12 hours, it will drive normally, it will boost, goes really well. However when I turn it off and leave it for a while it goes all silly on me and won't go.

Would be easier to diagnose if it wasn't temperamental like this.

Does it cut gas at 4k? Does it sound like its hitting a rev limiter @ 4k? Also if the vehicle is in neutral it will rev freely if its in limp mode. My power gets cut at 4k only in gear. Thats the limp mode that I am in. Does not really sound like limp mode.

 

Yea it doesn't rev in neutral- not in limp mode.
It does hit a limiter like thing at 4k, the primary turbo is whistling away and it backfires and bucks- but it only gets to 4k if the gas pedal is feathered.

I have just pulled fault codes 32 and 45. (Finally worked out how to pull codes from a JDM rx7) Will look into these over the weekend.
