Another FD off the road...
When I first read your post, when you said, "The good thing, of course, is that aside from a bunch of bumps, bruises and small cuts, she is ok," I thought you were talking about your car. Then I checked the pictures. My bad.
I'm glad your girlfriend is alright. It sucks to lose someTHING you love, but it's worse to lose someONE.

Sorry to see that happen but glad you g/f is okay. It is unfortunate to see us lose another FD in Texas. If you decide to put another back on the road in its' place, I will soon be parting with a salvaged title 93 VR base (also have a 93 BB R-1). I live south of Houston and will be coming to Dallas for a seminar at the end of August. That could make it convenient for you.
Not trying to be a scab, just trying to ease the pain.

If that happened to my FD I would just freak out... It's my only real hobby right now n would hate to lose it in any way
No sarcastic comments from me im sure she feels bad enough, glad she is ok. My car was that bad in the front 5 years ago and i have no problems after fixing it, but the back i dont know about. It could be a 3/4 chassis!
Man, that sucks. Your car looks really nice too, you appear to an A+ FD owner based on what I read on your website. I love to see that kind of enthusiasm for rotary power.
So you run a 255/50/16 tire on the rears? Didn't know that would fit an 8" wheel.
But... make sure to let me know when you decide to part out
Let me help you

What???
but i agree with the other ppl.. you and only you should drive that car.. good thing shes OK and, will you be getting another FD?
was she maybe screwing around with the car and lost control? or possible when she was trying to get out the way she lost control.
also if you decide to part it out, how much would you want for your window switch?

She thinks the car hit her, though she's not sure. 4 lanes wide!!
also if you decide to part it out, how much would you want for your window switch?

I hate to say anything sexist, but this will be one of the rare times:
A higher percentage of women are not as naturally calm as men. They panic easier and make poor split second decisions. Couple this with a High HP 50/50 car that is fickle already... and these tend to be the results.
I do however see things like this happen with many males, due to making overall poor decisions.
Something I have learned working in the car business: EVERY manager I have had and coworker that was married says the only way to keep your favorite car nice, is to buy your woman one she can wreck. Women naturally look for big things and dont really worry about the little dents and dings they pick up along the way. Men are more materialistic. We are... get over it. We DO care about that 1/2 inch long scratch that she picked up at the mall when she drove our car.
Anyways, it looks like she panicked. But glad to hear she is ok. things can be replaced, people cannot. However, I do recommend that you get her a FWD vehicle for her to cruise around in. They tend to be much more forgiving... even when tipped on the rear quarter. Plus, she'll do good in any inclement weather.... and you wont come home to a wrecked FD ever again... unless it is you taht wrecks it.
Good luck and I hope you find a good replacement vehicle.
Vulture Side coming out: How much would you be willing to sell the center console pieces for?

I felt bad when you told me over the phone about this. Now to see pictures, OUCH! Atleast your girl is not hurt. Give me a call when you have a chance, i'll take the intercooler, motor and drivetrain...

Yeah you can run a 255/50 on a stock FD wheel. I am running that size in the rear, SOLEY to give that "muscle car" look. Stupid i know but i look for ways to spend money

If you actually read up on the mustang forums, guys put as wide as 275 on their 8 inch wheels.
Im really sorry for your loss. Good news is if you decide to part it out after you get paid out by insurance you stand to make a pretty penny. My fd got totaled last year, and since I have parted it out and made back all the money I had in it, plus quite a bit. Good luck with everything, glad your girl is alright, thats what really matters.
Thanks everyone for the posts. My g/f feels terrible already, and she loved the car as much as I did, minus the blood and sweat part.
It could have been that she was fooling around and lost control, she panicked, or she got hit; either way, one thing is for sure, is that I will most likely never know for sure.
I will probably be parting the car out soon, but I've got to wait for insurance to do their thing, and see what they say first before I make any decisions for sure...
I don't have any prices yet as to how much everything will cost if I part it out, but when it's time, I will place in the for sale section. I don't want to be giving anyone price quotes yet, because I don't want to worry about remembering all the prices yet, and I'm not sure what all is salvageable and what's not, until I get into it. This sucks...what a mess.
The only thing keeping my spirits up is that at least I have another FD, and that one is ok...so far...
