another boost question.

I got a rebuilt motor and redid the rats nest with silicon vac hose. The motor was blown when i got it about two months ago. all is back together but when is drive i'm only getting about 2-3psi of boost. i read somewhere under the search that when you disconnect the wastegate control and the turbo control you get 5 psi of boost. So i did that and i got 5 psi consistantly. I changed the turbo control solenoid next to the acv. triple checked the vac lines for correct connection. Charge relief valve is shut at idle. i will check the vac lines off the wastegate and precontrol solenoids to the actuators, but any insight would be appreciated.

Check to make sure the charge control valve (the butterfly valve in the Y-pipe) isn't stuck open or opening when it shouldn't. Also, make sure the turbo control door is working properly.

You can do a quick check of your CCV and TC Valve by doing the KOKO test:
http://www.fd3s.net/boost_test.html

Also verify that your system is storing pressure and vacuum properly.

ok I noticed that a wastegate control and a turbo precontrol vac hose popped off of each solenoid right behind the vac canister next to the plastic charge pipe. i plugged i t back together with new vac lines and drove it. now there is no primary boost. but if i goose the throttle it will some times go to 10 psi. but maybe 2 psi in first gear. the tca is connected and the rod is adjusted, fyi

I think you should continue looking for loose hoses, and check them against the hose diagram.

Also run that KOKO test. If the CCV isn't working right, it will dump your primary boost and also fail the KOKO test.
