Anodizing any one intrested?

Is anybody intrested in haveing thier alluminum parts stiped polished and anodized any color you wish? I have started anodizing alluminum parts and can anodize parts up to about 250 sq inches. maybe a little bit bigger.. Just don't ask me to do your rims =]

If you're inrested please ask..... Ohh by the way I know that some single turbos if not all the coldside or the inlet part of the turbo is made of alluminum and I could polish and anodize that also....

If any one has a spare upper plenum/intake that I could exsperiment with that size of part to see how well my Anodizing machine will do with that big of parts I would more then happly work with you on future deals.........

Thanks

I don't have any parts to anodize, yet. I do want to know how anodizing is done. Is it a liquid that you dip into or spray on?

BTW, if I had an alum intake, it would be interesting to have that anodized.

I used to work for an aerospace anodizing and mil-spec paint shop.

keep in mind that cast aluminum does not anodize well-the pits and irregularities in the surface tend to develop acid burns and cracks.

Color anodizing looks good, but it's relatively thin and if the part is rubbed enough, you will cut thru the decorative coat...Hard anodizing is a different story.

I think a hard anodize on the intake piping would look cool.

I believe you need a perfectly smooth surface to anodize something.

Hint hint. polish =D

<laugh> how much aluminum dust do you inhale a day, man?

But yea, a good surface is important to a good anodize. If you're doing it home-brew style, make sure you wipe the stuff down before the acid dip with some solvent.

no you don't need a highly polished part to anodize, you can acutly bead blast the part also
