there was actually a thread about amsoil and lots of other brands, but in conclusion yes amsoil is very very good. It has in incredibly low ash rate if you are talking about using synthetic. I am going to start using it as soon as i do a few more oil changes with mobile 1 synthetic, so i can get all of the dino juice out of circulation. I just switched to synthetic about a week ago and the car is running fine. Don't have any gauges so i don't know how it affected the temperatures. Supposedly it will cool down a lot quicker with synthetic. Okay wow, i just noticed how off topic i got, and i don't feel like deleating the stuff i wrote. So yes amsoil is a good company, if not the best.

Just a clarification: synthetic makes the car run cooler, not cool down faster.

I believe that has also been proven to cool down faster after a hard run.
