Am I running lean??
Am I running lean??
here's a noob question for ya. when I'm on throttle, the a/f ratio guage hits 14.5. and i've been getting 20mpg city + highway driving. am I running too lean? the mods on the car are dp, intake, and bov. Thanks!

The gauge is the first thing to check. Of course, the time between 3K and 4K in cold weather under full throttle is so brief that an O2 sensor doesn't have much time to react.

BTW, when my guage reads, it always hits from 17 to 14.5 and no graduals in between. Is my guage fcked up? or is it suppose to do that? I never had a car with a/f guage so i don't know haha.
For the thousandth time, a/f gauges that rely on the stock or other narrowband o2 sensor ARE USELESS UNDER WOT.
Unless your car is having severe issues, it is most certainly not running lean with a downpipe and catback. Not even close. All of those a/f gauges are pretty much a worthless light/needle show.

Yeah, if you want an accurate reading under WOT, a wideband 02 sensor is a must.
