If your car is street driven, it's not recommended.

it is street driven but my oil pan is in bad condition so i thought i should get an aluminium one to help with the oil temps....so u say i should just get a new OEM one?

also same things i should do to the transmission oil pan? what oil should i use there?

Yes just use a stock pan. The larger oil pans are cast which means they crack open if they hit something (rather than just get dented like the stock oil pan). Since you can't really control what's on the streets, it's just not a good idea:

As for transmission oil, any decent synthetic will be fine.

usually use full synthetic royal purple, redline, or amsoil 90wt or the 85w-90 i would suggest to also use it for your differential too

good luck!

Do you know if any changes have been made to the pan since then to avoid an incident like that?

They are cast. Cast will just break, not dent, which is the problem using it on streets where you can have random debris. They are for offroad applications only (i.e road courses). Situations like that typically wouldn't happen for where they are meant to be used.
