alternator belt
I installed my new alternator today but I can't seem to fit the belt. Is there a tensioner for the alternator belt? I know there is one for the other belt but I can't find it anywhere and I cant put the belt on. Can someone show me where it is? Thanks

The only way I know of is with an impact gun. You remove the alternator nut, place the belt on the pully and then reinstall the pully. Then zip the bolt tight.

there are two bolts on teh air pump there is one on top and one in the bottom mounted on a bracket if you loosen both thos bolts you can slide the air pump to the right to give you more space to put the belt...that is how I was able to put mine on..I am assuming you have a 3rd gen right...

DO NOT remove a pulley just to change a belt! That's rediculous!
KaiFD3S has the right idea.
Adjust the alternator pulley tensioner first by loosening the hinge bolt (the 14mm bolt), then loosen the nut that circled by the word "tensioner". Turn the bolt circled by the words "alt. pulley" until the alternator bottoms out. Now try to get the belt on. If you can't get it on, then double check that you have the correct belt. If you have the correct belt, then we need to adjust the airpump (also known as the smog pump). Remove the resonator and the airbox. The resonator is easy to remove. There's just a couple bolts on the front. The airbox has three bolts near the bottom. You'll also need to disconnect all the air hoses connecting to it EXCEPT the mysterious hose on the driver's side of the airbox that leads under the car. That hose does not connect to anything, it just vents underneath your car. After your airbox is out, you will have access to your airpump pulley. Loosen the hinge bolt and then loosen the bolt that is underneath the airpump. You should now be able to swing the airpump down a few more degrees. You may also need to loosen the little arm that is under the airpump as well.
