alright, changed my plug and wires, but now my car backfires!?

sup,

let me vent first, it was living hell changing the damn wires...I broke so many things while taking the TB and oil filler off! arg, i'll never do it again! anyhow, i got everything back, and now my car backfires when I decelerate...!

so any explanation for this?

Do u have a remapped ecu?? The back fire is usaully due to excess fuel not fired off during the combustion cycle. It sounds like you're saying you didn't have backfiring before the plug/wire change??

hi,

no remapped ecu, and yea the backfiring started once i changed the plugs and wires. but now my car runs so much better, my previous plugs and wires were fouled...

Check the hose going to the map sensor. I knokced it off when I changed my plugs and it was backfiring like crazy.

Check your plug connection, make sure leading goes to leading plug and trailing goes to trailing plug.
Mine was wired wrong, so it was backfiring a lot, even by rev-ing it.
It backfiring less now, but still backfire during shift.

Could the TB dashpot be out of adjustent, would that cause backfiring?
