already searched for chargeing help..
hi guys,
ive gotten down to the clutch switch or he starter.
the battery doesnt charge and its not the alt or the batt.
ive looked at the factory manual and it shows a clutch switch and starter all in line with the hot cable between batt and alt...
my question is, where is this switch? i am under the car right now making sure the three wires on the rear of the starter are tight.
i suspect it is the clutch switch because occasionaly i have to release then depress the clutch again to get it to start.

this is really disturbing! my fd is my every day driver.
I need help. please dont make me drop it off at the dealership guys, i dont even let my girlfriend drive the r1.
to recap. i cant find any wires loose, new batt. and alt. and this thing just drops charge when car is moving.

Well one of the clutch switches is easy to check, just get on your back and crawl up under the dash. At the top of the clutch pedal you will see a switch with a white plunger thing on it.. just push the clutch pedal in and out and make sure that switch is popping back out when the clutch pedal is out.

However, I'm not sure that's the switch you need...
I don't see how your clutch switch or starter would cause your battery not to charge. Does your car start? Then it's not the clutch switch, and the only way it could be the starter is if there was a short and it was draining your system so bad that it couldn't charge. But that would blow a fuse, and/or cause a fire.
How do you know that your alternator and battery are good? Did you check your grounds? Did you check the voltage at the battery with the engine stopped and with the engine running? Engine off, the voltage should be around 12, with it running it should be around 13.5 to 14.

Further, with the car off, there is no electrical connection possible to the starter interlock switch (clutch depress:on) that you are referring to. The interlock switch and starter cut relay only effect the starter solenoid activation circuit, and this only comes into play when the ignition is turned to "start".
