15.03 seconds 40-140

I was running 15.8 lbs of boost on 100 octane.
Are my Enkei Aegis 18's killing me? I've been shifting around 7500 RPMs. I would rather be safe than sorry considering I drive the car every day to school and work.

Other mods are in the sig. Let me know what you think...
Pianoprodigy, did your rex seem to be running as strong as the day you put down 410 rwhp? If so, this is a valuable comparison point for me. I've never been able to dyno the damn BNRs to get their full potential on paper yet. Based upon your post, I'm making in excess of 400 rhwp easy.....

I was running 1bar at the time. I was pretty suprised myself. I plann on trying this with the to4s setup and should do much better cause ther car feels way faster.

My boost controller got reset the only other time that I had race gas, so I never felt the full power on the day of the dyno and I ran out of race gas that night. Last night was really the first time that I've had the car out with race gas.

I would think that a single-turbo setup such as mine should be faster than even the upgraded twins, right? Apparently this isn't the case with my car...

Hm. The wheels prolly hurt you, but on my run I had on my 17 inch Fikses, which are much heavier than stock with the S03s mounted on there.

Porting and tuning might account for most of the differential.

Rich, I IMed you the night I did this, but thought I'd post it since the thread is bumped up here.

I just let the Haltech datalog a run. I went on the highway and calibrated the road speed value and then did the run. It was just me in the car and I only weigh a measly 155lbs....so take that as you will. I am guessing the car is making maybe right at 400rwhp (probably less) with this restrictive downpipe currently on it...so restrictive that it is hurting spool in gear and even between shifts.

the road speed value did a little fluctuating 1mph here and there as it currently does - it isn't the most accurate thing in the world, but probably just as (or more)accurate as Steve or someone else clicking a stopwatch looking at your speedo from the passenger seat.

it does it in cells...here's that it looked like:

time....speed
1.9....39
2.0....39
2.0....41
....
.....
...
15.6...138
15.7...139
15.8...139
15.9...139
15.9...141
16.1...140
16.2...140
16.3...141
16.3...139
16.4...141
16.6...142
16.7...141
16.7...142
16.8...142
16.9...141
17.0...144

so...read that as you want. What it means to me is that at 7500-8000 rpm my igntion is breaking up (also looking at the boost it is fluctuating too)

13.9 second is what I told you online before

forgot to state:

boost = 5psi - high13 to low14 indicated (haltech usually indicates 1-2 psi lower than the boost gauge) The peak on my boost gauge was ~15.5#

intake temps = 109-123 *F

Interesting. Up above, you meant to say 15 psi, not 5, right ?

no - i mean 5 psi to high13/low14 psi (fluttering a bit)

remember how i said my spool sucks *** and I think this ridiculous excuse for a downpipe is probably the cause?

at 40 mph and in between shifts it would be around 5-7psi for a few tenths of a second before going back up to high13/low14psi

I'll bring my laptop and show you the datalog this weekend at MSR.

before I tore my car apart I ran a 800hp single turbo supra from a 30 roll to 150, I have a video of it but its not on my digital video cammera, im trying to figure out how to convert it to get it on pc. From what the video says I did 30-150 in 14.2seconds.

don't forget the viper should be in first gear at 40 mph. there is no way you can keep up with the viper from 40 to 140.

Try it, it can. I raced a Viper GTS on the highway one morning, up to the top of 4th for me, which was just about 140. I lost badly BTW

just as a sidenote, i've witnessed my gauge hit 150mph in 4th gear at almost 8500. of course it was on the dyno, but at least i know it'll hit 150 in 4th. if i raise my redline, i could get more, but i won't do that until i know i can make power past 8500.

blast from the past...

I tried this last night (73F outside), felt fast as **** but, not as fast as these guys my shifting was a bit slow (tranny taking a dump) and for whatever reason it took longer to build boost back between 3rd and 4th.

my tune could be stronger... 10.9 A:F with W/I; 17psi, 17 deg adv and tappered up to 8 deg split.

coolant started at 205F and ended at 210F
Air temp started at 116F and ended at 150F

datalog said 15.1s

can't say I'm too bummed, but after I install my EGT probe and refine my tune, I'll try again.
