All guages work but tack is stuck at 9k RPM

Whats up fellas a buddy of mine got an FD and his tach is stuck at 9k and sometimes it works backwards when he revs it starts at 9 then as the RPM's go up the tach moves backwards. Anyone know of a fix for this please advise.

Well most certaintly the Tach is bad.

But he can try to remove it and see what's going on, or at the same time do this mod :

Just get a used on and swap it =)

Ok when you say get a used one do you mean the whole cluster or just the tach part?

it is very hard to find just the tach itself. You can find decent complete cluster for a decent price on the FD FOR SALE SECTION.
