Airbag Impact Sensor by Door Hinge
Airbag Impact Sensor by Door Hinge
The little black box with the arrow on it that's attached to the door hinge, and the wire from it goes to the blue and orange connector near the passenger side firewall... I was wondering if it's okay to unplug it at that blue/orange connector?
I don't have any airbags anymore, but I'm hoping unplugging it won't trip something bad. I also have a PowerFC if that makes any difference
Thanks

lol. I was sitting here scratching my head, bc I didn't remember seeing one by the door hinge. If you don't have the Airbag, and a PFC, I would say no it shouldn't matter. There are three sensors in the front though, if you wanted to remove them all, you'll have to pull the fender liners out, if not remove the front qp's. The others are right above the oil cooler/s. Same kind of connector, one on each side of the car.

hmm....I'm actually trying to hook all mine back up from an aftermarket steering wheel to a nardi airbagged weel. My light flashes repeatedly.... So the three sensors are by the hood hinge, and both fender liners? thanks!
The airbag system has it's own ECU located under the dash, right in the middle. You could unplug it, and I don't think it would blink at all.
As for the connectors, yes there are 3. One by the hood hinge, the other two on each side of the front, right above the oil coolers. I believe the SakeBomb Garage oil cooler kits uses these bolts for a mounting spot, so if you need a pic of the location, do a search for their Dual Oil Cooler kit. The Wires for the 2 "side" sensors run up under the front QP's and connect to the main control harness outside of the car, before entering the car through a grommet.

I believe the Sake Bomb oil cooler kit just attaches the bracket to one of the lower bolts on the side airbag sensors, but the sensors still stay on
Do you have a picture of this ECU under the dash by anychance?

No pics, but look in the S section of the 94 body electrical manual. It goes through the Air Bag System completely. It has some good reference pics in there for diagnostics, that should give you an idea of its location.
And reference to the SBG Kit was for picture purposes only. Just in case, he wanted a picture of the modules/location, to help him find them.
Heres the pic

See the black box thing with the UPC code on it, right above the Oil Cooler? That's what you're looking for.
Sorry SBG if I wasn't supposed to use this photo. It was for reference only.

Hopefully a light or some ECU code won't come up
