air pump removal
I want to keep my cat for emission reasons, is there any way I could remove the air pump and keep the cat? It!s because the air pump makes this stupid noise and since I've installed my pettit racing intake kit, you can hear it very good...
Sounds like my car sneezes when the air pump activates... I think other people with an open intake know what sound I mean?

Yep, a lot of people call it a "mooing" sound, which seems accurate enough to me.
There are cats now that do not require an air supply, but I don't know what effect that might have on the life of the catalyst. If you want to use the stock cat, you need the air pump for it to work once the exhaust is warmed up.
Personally, I kept the air pump - my concern involves the contact area of the belt on the water pump pulley.
