Air pump to Air Box leak?

I have a cracked plastic pipe where the air pump goes into the air box. Does this cause any problems? Its not totally broken off, but I'm sure air escapes when under power.

Thanks

If I'm understanding you correctly, that is the SUPPLY to the air pump. The only problem would be sucking dirt thru the crack into the air pump.

no, the air pump sucks air from your exaust/cat and blow it back into the air box

even if its hot air blowing out from the crack, i would at least use black electrical tape and wrap the hose so you don't take any chance of dirt going into the air box.

Is this a poor try at humor or what planet are you from?

The air pump gets air from the same place as the turbos which is in the top of the air filter box. It is compressed and then goes into the AirControlValve (ACV).
The ACV directs some air into the exhaust manifold and some to the cat.
Excess air then goes back to the top of the air filter box section that is a muffler and then dumps out the side to atmosphere.

The maunals do show this if you really study them.
Such cracked or broken pieces can be fixed with JB Weld or pluming supplies.
Knowledge and imagination can take you many places.

You handled that better than I would have LOL.....To the original poster replace the hose but a good wrap with electrical tape will do till it comes in.

I did the same thing...used some 2-part epoxy to fix it for the short-term.

They do have many sizes of pipes made from different materials.
They can be or are threaded such that their thin "nuts" can be used to screw
the parts together.

Go to a real plumming supply store and look at all the items that can be adapted to auto use for very low cost.

Real mechanics are inventive when parts are not available or original parts are too expensive.
