(1) open hood and prop open.
(2) disconnect electrical connector that goes to the air pump.

Now with the engine idling, you will also experience a worse idle if a stock or modified ECU is running the engine. This is due to the ecu trying to control idle AFRs with a false richer reading from the O2 sensor.

If you have a PFC, turn off the O2 F/B switch.

Mate thanks for the reply......Although im not sure where th electrical connector you are refering to is, can you post me a picture showing me cauz im still pretty new to rx7's......Also theres like a pipe connected to the airbox that draws air below the radiator and doesnt seem to be filtered, is this reatred to the air pump and does it matter if i disconnected it? any help appreciated......

I've ran my stock cat without the pump for quite some time now. at least 2,000 miles. I've heard of people burning out their cat much sooner than this. Are there any after market cats that work well without the airpump? I hate the smell of a straight pipe and I don't need to attract any attention from cops.
