Question Air Intake Thermosensor Problem?

It seems to be recurring more often. In the past I would just notice, RARELY, a sudden drop of my intake temperatures on the commander. the drop would go about 15-20 degrees Celcius and immediately return back to ambient.

More recently, I'm noticing the same drop, but much more regularly and it seems (though not all the time) to happen under boost. The intake temps will drop sometimes rapidly, sometimes slowly, and sometimes will register as NEGATIVE (-21) on my PFC.

In all cases the temps return overtime, never longer than 2 minutes, to ambient temps. They return VERY rapidly as well..that is..once they start going up.

Does this sound like a bad sensor? A bad connection? A bad Ground?

I realize the stock sensor is crap..but mine is behaving very strangely.

replace it and you can relocate it also to somewhere that does not see as much heat soak.

Check the wiring first. The sensor is just a variable resistor and it would take a lot to "damage" one.

Mine does the exact same thing. Usually when I 1st start it up, but every once in a while it'll go nuts while I'm driving. Temporary fix is to wiggle the sensor under the UIM. My car is non sequential so it's easy to get my hand underneath there.
