Question Air Control Valve Question

Ok when blocking the air control valve what do you do with the two remaining vacuum lines that use to hook up to the air control valve? Do you just connect them together in other words join them or do you just cap them? One other thing if I don’t leave the sensors hooked up to the air control valve the stock ecu will throw a code right? Well how about with the Apexi power Fc will it throw a code?

The PFC doesn't throw codes if sensors are removed.

The stock ECU will store the ACV codes, but it won't trigger the dash check engine light. As for the vacuum lines, just remove them completely.

But they are connected to some type of solenoid or sensor type thing. Do you mean remove the solenoids also?

Or should I just take the vacuum lines off and leave the solenoids there without the vacuum lines?

Take the vacuum lines off the solenoids and cap the UIM. Whether you leave the solenoids in place or not is up to you.

The vaccum lines aim talking about are the two lines that go to the air control valve? Those do not go to the UIM.

You need to remove all the lines which deal with the ACV operation or leave them all. You shouldn't just remove a few of them.

There is only two vacuum lines that go to the air control valve. Should I remove them and cap the solanoids or should I leave them open?

Take a look at the vacuum diagram. You'll see the two lines which go to the ACV from the solenoids, but there are other lines which go from those same solenoids but NOT to the ACV. You should remove those as well (one of which goes to the UIM).

Study the vacuum diagram before you start removing things so you know what you should remove and what you shouldn't.

What do you recomend for me to do remove the solanoids as whell or just the two vacuum lines that go to the acv?

You basically have 3 options:

1. Remove the vacuum lines and the ACV, leave the solenoids in place with no vacuum lines run to them. They are only plugged into the harness. That will keep the missing solenoid codes from popping up.

2. Remove the solenoids and put resistors in the harness. This will trick the ECU into thinking the solenoids are still in place which will stop it from storing the solenoids codes.

3. Remove the solenoids and do not use resistors. This will work, but as mentioned the ECU will store the solenoids codes. Those codes will not trigger the dash light or put the car into limp mode.
