AHHHH! Help, I am stuck on the last step!

Hey all,
I recently completed a entire engine swap and a ton of other mods on my RX7. We were a day away from tuning and bleeding hte clutch when we found out the moron who installed the clutch didn't put the c-clip locking ring in for the throwout bearing to latch on to. Either way we are trying to drop the tranny to put in a new clutch since the one we have in there isn't even installed correctly and we have to pull the tranny anyways.

The problem I am having is we have the tranny completely unbolted form the engine and the rear diff and ALL the brackets and connectors and everything undone but the damn drive shaft WILL NOT seperate from the rear diff. We took out the 4 bolts and have been trying to seperate it for hours! It's almost as if the rust welded them together. I can literally lift the entire tranny and the enginetoward while pushing up on the drive axel. I need some advice....is there something I am doing wrong here? Can anyone tell me if it's jsut the four bolts back there holding it in? Please help I really want to drive my car but this is holding us up hardcore now. Thanks guys.

Soak it in PB Blast, then use a big *** brass hammer. The four bolts are all that should be holding it on.

Have you or any others run into this problem in the past?

I did... first time I removed the driveshaft. And I did just what Rich suggested, except I had a brass flat punch and just a big *** hammer.
