Aftermarket Clutch options...
Hey guys,
Ive being searching for a while now for a decent clutch that can handle an FD that will be around 280rwhp. Im staying away from a puck type clutch because i want something that is streetable and long lasting.
I have searched the internet and these forums. Goodfellas was saying that his ACT SS ZX3-HD00 held up to 50 000miles of 340rwhp, now that is pretty good. However RX7store lists this clutch at 550US, which is a little bit steep for me.
Do i need this clutch to handle my 280rwhp/250(?)rwtorque?? Or is there some other option out there for me....
What about the Pettit Rally Clutch Kit?? 379US
I was also concidering a lightened flywheel while i was doing the clutch, i have not researched into this. However i do know that a counterweight is needed etc etc.
If you guys could explain some of this information and recommend a good light flywheel for me that is a reasonable price that would be excellent.
Thanks a lot guys,
=Ben

Avoid Fuego Racing
I have the Exeedy stage 2. Can be bought from ebay for around 300 and is very streetable. I put down around 300rwhp and have no problems with it holding so far. I have only had it installed for about a month now.

I got a package deal from SR motorsports ACT clutch with their flywheel. Not too bad on the street driving. The ACT has plenty of capacity for increased horsepower. I also installed a stainless clutch line from Mazdatrix. I'm happy with my combo. Cost about 1,100 for everything when it was all said and done. This included all the seals, bearings, and new counterweight.
