After Non-Seq, Overheating !
Here is the story..
I just got my car out of the workshop after long story with changing the turbo to a Non-Seq setup.
I didnt drive my car yet, but the mechanic whne he took it out for a ride, the car started to overheat !!! though he informed me that during the conversion he didnt loose much of water from the car.
Is it something wrong witht he vacumes or hoses or something else???

didnt lose much water from the car during the conversion??? if he took the turbos off then it shouldve been fully drained of both coolant and oil and then refilled properly and burped before driving anywhere

^ that tool will make it easier to do but you don't need it to burp the system, burping instructions also in the link.

How do you know it's overheating. If you're using the stock water temperature gauge, it's probably too late and you may be looking at motor rebuild.
But I would just top off the coolant just as a starting point.

Yesterday i drove it around and after too many runs
the temp was going over the mid point almost reaching the H, but its not and going down again. i stop and the engine was runing and nothing was leaking, i smelled the exhaust and there nothing but the normal smell,
BUT there was a smell from the engine like an evaporting raditator water in the hood, but again nothing is leaking from under.
When i turend off the engine, the overflow tank started to take water out of it.
Any IDea????

1. You may still have air in cooling system, or
2. maybe a sticking thermostat causing the temperatures to fluctuate
3. excessive coolant flow to the overflow tank at shutdown could be a symptom of #1 or #2.

Make sure the mechanic installed the correct cap on the filler neck and AST. The AST should have the spring loaded cap on it. The filler neck on the thermostat housing should not have a spring on it.

During warm up when i crancked the engine i opened the filler nick (the one has the flat cap) and i started filling water and a foam started to be there on top of the filler nick (something like the CHAMPANE Foam)
Is that Normal???

thats aside from the 16lbs cap i installe dlately on the petit AST, which i will be removing today !!
