and what are corvette drivers, or super car owners? Superior beings? I don't think Rx-7's are the best **** in the world but damn near close to it. And just because I do doesn't mean I'm a ricer. It's because I really like everything that is unique about it, and especially the fact that I can afford to enjoy it at an early stage in life, to me it is this and I really could give a **** what anyone else would think. To me the ricer mentality or people who hate on ricers doesn't bother me either. I really see the way people represent themselves whether through their vehicle or the way the talk, or what they think as an expression of oneself. If that is how they wish to carry themselves on, so be it, who cares if they or their car looks retarded, I go on living my life. If it's my flavor or not, I either like it or I don't, and move on. But what impresses me the most is those who challenge themselves all the time to not give a **** of what others think and to do things because they believe in it.

The reasons a lot of people have the same opinion about mustangs is because they a cookie cutter cars, plain outside, very plain inside.Thats my opinion, you like it fine. I think that mustang owners are far worse compaired to civic "ricer" owners. Here, everyone that has a mustang GT thinks its the fastest sports car in the world and like to rev their engines at everyone.Granted i have only lost to 1 mustang ever, any car will kick *** at the track given the proper amount of money. And i didnt cry when i lost to the mustang, im goin T78 . You cant deny that the Rx7 is much more unique in every sense.

I don't think its a "problem" per se... since so many folks have chimed in with a similar effect... it's a fact of life with a car with an open exhaust, that burns oil by design, and needs an 11.1-ish AFR to stay alive.

From what it sounds like, you won't get through to him no matter how hard you try so just let it be. People like what they see as attractive in a car, personally the mustang hasn't been a good looking car to me since the fastback era. They do kick some *** at the drag strip, especially the newer cobra's. I love my 7, and nothing can change that. I love getting the stares when I roll down the road, or have people come ask me about it when I get out of the pharmacy. I come out at least once a week to see someone checking it out, and it makes my day to meet someone who likes my car as much as I do. Mustangs are fine, may not be your style of car but whatever, to each his own. I personally have a beef with most of the young, stupid crowd with gt's driving crazily and revving at me when I'm just cruising and they get a smirk on their face like that should scare me or something. The only thing scaring me is how stupid some of them are on the road. People can say the same about other drivers, personally I dislike the civic crowd more than mustangs, at least they can actually haul *** and not sound like ***.

Hey
When you see a car this sexy how can you argue. I thought this was a souped up Pinto!!

Anyone know where I can buy and fix up a AMC Gremlin. I'd like to race it against my FD.

piano what did your tuner say?
it sounds like an ignition problem...or could a faulty crank angle sensor have anything to do with it?
the racegas should have left your exhaust white on the inside but ive never had a problem like yours and my car was tuned very rich

He thought it could be a bad coil, but he didn't think so because there was no ignition breakup. The car pulls smooth and hard just not hard enough. I think we've decided to run the 100 unleaded rather than 110 leaded and go back to the dyno this week and see if we can at least get back to the 440+ whp we had a few months back.

piano-((I think we've decided to run the 100 unleaded rather than 110 leaded))

this is what i was going to say^^ because 110 leaded octane has a very slow burn rate wich can and will make you run rich. i have seen this happen many times before. my $ .02

Yes. We'll try the 100 unleaded and see how it goes. Appointment is set for Friday evening. Using the 100 octane unleaded is much easier because the gas station that sells it will allow me to pump the unleaded directly into my car. Otherwise, I have to have my mechanic send someone up to the station with jugs, fill them up, and then go to his shop to get the gas.

The price for 100 unleaded is the same as the 110 leaded. I was planning on always running the 100 unleaded in the first place because of the convenience factor, but one of the hurricanes broke the 100 pump, so I had to use the 110.

Tentative Goals:

1. This Firday, get back to where we were in November before the accident (~450 whp)
2. In a few months, install WI and port and polish intake manifolds in an effort to get 500 whp @ 20 psi.
3. Either upgrade to a newer, better turbo (maybe R85) or wait a bit longer and go 20B.

Was your Nov 4th run on 110? If not I would suspect that's your root cause. Ignition issues are most likely related to over rich condition due to octane as well.
