AFR question

i got the car dyno'ed the other day and she put down what i thought were good numbers, but looking at other posts im seeing that its a bit low.

ive got a "mild" steet port, intake, DP, MP, catback and 11psi and im only at 288rwhp @ 7500rpm. but then im also pig-rich (old gforce ECU) with AFRs around 11.4 to 1.

could dumping that much fuel affect my numbers that much? or is there another issue that i need to be looking for?

11.5 is around where you want to be for a safe tune.. if your going above 12 then say bye. what type of dyno is it on?

dynojet if i remember correctly. i dont have the graph on hand right now.

youre sayin 12 as in 12psi right? i dont plan to go any higher than 11 until i can upgrade my IC and fuel system (if the fuel system needs to be upgraded that is... i need to find out what my IDC is).

Your AFRs are pretty much right where you want them to be for a safe tune.

Your numbers are a little on the low side but I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Comparing dyno results between different dynos isn't very valid. Perhaps something in the ignition isn't 100%, or the ecu has extremely consersative timing, etc etc. The use of the stock IC isn't helping you either.

I meant as in 12.0 afr. I have noticed that many people tune around 11.5 upto 11.7 once you start going up further it is too lean for a rotary especially a turboed rotary. I even see people tune them to 10.5 just to make sure thier motor lasts longer.

Also the sniffer they put in the tailpipe isnt as accurate as the bung in the DP is. The further the exhaust travels and cools down and possibly leaks out the less accurate it is. To get the most accurate you will need a good quality wideband

IC is gonna be replaced pretty soon. as for my ECU... im not sure how the Gforce units manage things as far as timing is concerned. thats something i hadnt considered.

plug wires and coils are pretty old, so i'll look into replacing them soon... after i fix my oil leak. what im going for with my car is a reliable 300+ whp.

thanks for the responses.
